As I walked to last period I stopped on the side of the building for a smoke. I felt so relaxed breathing it. But then that Ashton dude came.
"Jessica!" He yells looking straight at me.
"What do you want, Ashhole?" I mentally high five myself for that one.
"It's Ashton, Cora" He says.
"Don't use my middle name." I glare at him. It's silent for a minute but then...
"You know smoking is bad for you?" He says.
"You know I don't care." I laugh, "Even if I did care, I wouldn't be able to stop. i'm addicted." I look at him dead in the eyes.
"Oh." He looks down.
I scoff and laugh at the same time. "What do you want Fletcher?"
"What gives you the right to use my middle name?" He laughs
"You voluntarily gave it to me." I smile
"I want to get to know you. I want to be friends."
"Let me get something straight." I started Throwing my cigarette to the ground at stomping on it, "I don't have friends. I don't need them."
"Oh, come on! Everyone needs a friend!" He says crossing his arms.
"Friends are just temporary."I say staring straight ahead. "One moment they're there, the next moment, gone."
"You shouldn't stereotype everyone with that reputation." He laughs nervously, "I wouldn't do that"
"You don't think you would. But trust me, you will. Even the nicest people eventually stab someone in the back."
"Yea, well people aren't perfect." He smirks. I just stayed quiet because honestly he was right. Everyone makes mistakes, but it is my choice to not care about anyone that way their mistakes dont effect me.
"Well, class is almost over anyways, I'm leaving" I start to walk off.
"Where are you going?" He Smiles.
"Is that any of your business, Fletcher?" He scrunches up his noes. "Bye."
