the room silenced before ms. choung spoke up once again. jungkook braced himself as he knew exactly what was to come out of her mouth.

"jungkook, it's your turn to share." she said with the brightest smile as if he was going to share an accomplishment of some sort. as if he was going to collect an award.

he's avoided it long enough, dreading his turn to speak about what landed him in this place, it feels as though he had only been in here for seconds. time moves like lightning when you're anxious, doesn't it?

he swallowed hard before he looked up at everyone else, he didn't even know he had his head down. his eyes beamed and everyone in the circle as they awaited for him to share. why was he so anxious? what's done is done and he's unable to fix it. he would certainly try again if he had the chance.

he quickly stopped this thoughts that seemed to be racing at a hundred miles per second before opening his mouth to start:

"i wasn't the most liked person at school.."

extreme understatement.

*flashback*

" 'freshman year would be a breeze' they said." jungkook muttered to himself as he moved his soaking wet hair out of his face whilst walking back to his home.

jungkook was currently drenched in some sort of sports drink that his peers/jocks had poured on him in an attempt to get a giggle out of everyone else. they yelled all kinds of slurs at him as they did it, pointing to the soaked freshman as he stood there and cried, but not before yelling at them in a severe fit of rage. he then ran off as they proceeded to mock him and his 'tantrum' . they didn't understand.

no matter where he went in school he was harassed. he had no one to talk to, no one that even wanted anything to do with him. jungkook was an outcast.

why? because he was himself.

when jungkook started high school, everyone already thought he was strange due to his dark attire and lack of social skills. sometimes jungkook would talk to himself randomly to suppress his need to flip a table, yell at someone, or break something. his peers didn't want to even be seen with him unless they were tormenting him. they called him a psychopath day in and day out.

as soon as jungkook thought it couldn't get any worse, he had finally made a friend.

a boy had approached him in the hallway one day, introducing himself as 'jaehwa'. jungkook looked at him with skeptical eyes, confused as to why anyone would be speaking to him. that was until jaehwa reassured jungkook that he just wanted to be his friend and asked if they could hang out after school. jungkook immediately accepted, more than excited that he had finally made a friend.

jungkook and jaehwa continued to hang out every day before and after school, getting closer and closer as they days went by.

-

one day they were hanging out at jungkoo's house, seated up in his room while they watched a movie together.

"jungkook, what's that?" jaehwa asked, eyeing a notebook that seemed to be sealed shut. jungkook followed his eyes and his breath hitched when he figured out what his friend was talking about.
