The two creepy as hell twins had explained everything to the twenty or so kids that were crowded around; leaving you little to no information on what really goes on inside the mountain. All they said was that you needed to survive for seven days and how demons roam the mountain freely; they just can't escape because of the wisteria.
Tanjiro guided you into the forest slowly and gently lifted your face off his shoulder, smiling down at you. "No more wisteria, you'll be fine here."
You look up at him with a thankful gaze and sigh shakily. That was close.
You didn't know what happened if a demon touched them, and you didn't want to find out anytime soon.
Damn, you really wish your memories with Hiroto would come back now. He probably told you about all the effects of wisteria.
Speaking of the dazzling purple flower, Tanjiro looked straight ahead with a dazed look. He was spacing out. About you, specifically.
Your eye says upper three on it, you're deathly 'allergic' to wisteria, you have insane strength when it comes to physical things, you always seem to be fast, no matter what time of day it is or how much sleep you had got.
He snapped out of his daze when realizing you were walking away, hand on the handle of your sword in case. He gulped.
Were you a demon?
Surely you would tell him.. right? He knew you well; you didn't lie. At least... he didn't think you did. He followed after you quickly, feeling unnerved by simply standing besides you.
He sniffs the air.
There it was; the familiar smell of blood, confusion and fear.
Your smell, to be exact. It's always been like this; you never smelt different no matter what day of the week it was. The blood stench was a lot more prominent though. It smelt like you bathed in blood at least three times a day. That's how bad it was.
He shivered. Urokodaki has a keen sense of smile like him, so he had to endure your disgusting smell for years too. He fumbled with the words at the back of his throat.
"[N-Name]..?"
His voice quivered, he couldn't comprehend the thought of his best friend being a demon. An upper kizuki.
You look at him with a bored expression. Despite you being utterly scared of what waits for you in the forest, you were good at covering it up. "What?"
"Are you a.. demon?" He stops in his tracks, looking up at you with fearful hues. "Did you lie back there?"
You didn't seem to tense up, freak out or anything like that.
His thoughts started to clear up. No reaction, that's good in some ways! Maybe you weren't a demon and he was just delusional.
"Yeah," you smile, showing your pointy teeth. "Ever wonder why I have pointy teeth?" You take a step forwards. "Or how I'm extremely fucking strong? How I pass out for days on end without explaining myself?" You let go of the handle of your sword.
"You caught me, Tanjiro." You close your mouth. "This is out of the blue, yeah, but I don't care. Thought you knew from the beginning honestly! How did you never notice? And why did you ask randomly?"
Tanjiro doesn't answer. Instead, he turns around and begins to walk away. He.. couldn't look you in the eye right now.
Two years.
Two years of friendship, trust and loyalty down the drain.

Seven days. Seven days had flew by like nothing.
