UNDERSTANDING HIM

Chapter 17

I was laying on bed after dinner thinking about today.
Adam is still not home. He informed that he'll be late due to some work but I think he is just avoiding me or the topic, who knows.
Sleep was far away from my vision. My thoughts were frantically running through fragment of today's event.

Past:
After we got into the car neither me nor Adam spoke a word. I wanted to though, I wanted to ask what was that all about but seeing adam fully raged I dare open my mouth.

He parked the car in front of a restaurant if one can say so because it was huge and beautiful. I feel underdressed for being in such a place. I followed Adam matching his pace as he spoke to the receptionist and a waiter showed us our table.
We sat as waiter gave us our menu and offered us to try one of their's wine. He got that mischievous look in his eyes.
"This wine is one of our specialty miss, its imported from italy and we offer it only to some of our special guest's here . I am very sure you will like it." Waiter offered .

"Umnn..."I looked at Adam but he was on his phone furiously typing something.

" okay if you say so." I smiled.

"Very Good. Good choice miss-" he rose his eyebrow at me.

" Mila. My name is Mila."

" Very well Mila, you are very beautiful I must say and what more can I get you?"

"Maybe an another waiter for our table" Adam spoke before I can say anymore. He was having his hard bold voice which screamed not to mess with him right now, his phone long gone in the pocket of his suit.

" Did I do something wrong Sir?" Waiter asked with fear reflecing in his voice.

"Let me think. Rather than flirting with the women in front of me, no you didn't do anything wrong." Adam now fully eyeing the waiter.

" I was just offering your sister here some best items from our menu."

Did he just called me his sister?

" What m..my SISTER. You know what, just get out and you're fired!" Adam standup from his seat, ready to beat the hell out of this waiter. I also stood up.

" What? Y..you cannot fire me, you have no right to."

I hate to admit but he was right. Adam cannot go and fire people even if he likes it or not. World doesn't belong to him you know.

"Oh! Really. Well I just did. Go ask your manager who I am." Adam spoke loudly and whole restaurant was now looking at us.

"Adam he wasn't-" I was about to defend but Adam threw a sharp look towards me and I closed my mouth shut.

"What is going on here?" A lady came looking like in her early thirty's.

" Mr. Kiengstein, I am sorry but is something wrong?" He asked elegantly.

" Why don't you ask that to your scrumbag excuse of a waiter here, Elizabeth." Says Adam.

She instantly look at the waiter and waiter explained her everything while I and Adam were still standing, hearing the whole story again.

" Oh! I am very sorry miss for the behaviour of our waiter." She apologized to me. Then I notice how beautiful she actually looked. Not even a small freckle on her face.

" And Clarke you are fired." The waiter retreated after giving a disgusting look towards Adam.

" Sorry for the ruckus, I will send another waiter immediately for your service." Saying this she left.

"Adam you cannot fire anyone like that. It was not his fault you know." I felt very bad. Because of me that poor fellow lost his job.

" Ofcourse I can. It is my Restaurant." He said admonishing me."And yes it wasn't his fault but yours. Sitting there and flirting with other men in front of your husband. First that reckless Darwin and now this waiter, how low can you get."

Did he just insult me?

" What? I was flirting? How could you just sit there and insult me in the public like that. And about Darwin, he is nothing but a friend whom I saw only yesterday after high school. First hear out to other people's opinion before being judgemental,will you?" Now I was exasperated. I get up and got out of the restaurant, his restaurant.
I took a taxi home as I was no longer in the mood to go back to the cafe so I texted olivia.

Me: Lia, I am going home,not feeling well.
See you tommorow.

Lia:
Okay, use protection!😉

She is totally insane. What a friend I've got here. But nonetheless, I still love her. She is sarcastic and hard headed but very honest and funloving. She is good at giving advices except of her notorious ways.

Present:

I don't know when sleep overcome me. When I woke up, I saw my other side of the bed is still empty which means Adam has not returned yet.
