Chapter 3: Sakamaki Laito; Surprising Savior?

"What are you doing here Laito-san?" you ask in surprise as you quickly get up and face the red head in a fedora.

"Ah~ it really is you (Y/N)-chan~" the redhead exclaims as he walks towards you with his hands in his pocket. As soon as he reaches you, he looks at you, grins, and then sits next to where you were. You look at the man and let out a small huff as you're suddenly tugged down to the ground.

"W-what was that for?" you ask the guy as you adjust yourself properly, and sit down next to him, only to be creeped out by the way he was staring at you.

"It was just like that day huh?" he said as he took your (h/c) hair and moved a few strands away from your face that might have gotten stuck to your cheeks because of your tears. You were looking at him in confusion, but then his words finally got to you.

*flashback*

'Shit, I can't believe I'm already late! Dammit!' you cursed mentally as you ran through the school's corridor in attempt to make it to class before the first bell. You were running so insanely that you had your hair all over your face, your books threatening to fall out of your arms, and your bag dangling of the edge of your shoulder. You only prayed that you'd make it to class without coming in contact with anyone so they wouldn't have to see your ravaged self, but you thought too soon. Seconds after that, you didn't know what had happened, but you found yourself on the floor, landing straight on your bum. "Ouch" you muttered as your squinted eyes opened up only to see that your books were scattered across the floor, and your hair was in a bigger mess than what it was before.

"Ara~ this was unexpected" you heard a voice say as your hair was slowly pushed away from your face with fingers, slowly leaving your eyes exposed to the sight of a certain redhead with beautiful emerald green eyes. "Here~" he said as he extended his hand for you to take, and you did just so by grabbing it and being pulled up in the process.

"Sorry" you bowed and apologized, and then headed to pick up the books you had dropped on the floor, only to see that the man grinned rather strangely at you.

"Just where was a little lamb like you running off to?" he asked jokingly as he meddled with the hem of his fedora and gripped a book tighter in his hand.

"Class 1A" you exclaimed as you noticed that his expression changed to one of surprise. You raise an eyebrow and look at the guy who seemed to walk closer to you.

"1A? Subaru-kun's class eh?" he muttered as he played with a book in his hand and then shot a smirk at you. "Since we're going to the same place, let me accompany my lost little lamb~" he jokingly said as he put his arm around you and dragged you forward.

"Wha-? Are you also in my class" you asked with mixed emotions of surprise and embarrassment as you two continued to walk with your head nearly pressed against the side of his chest.

"No no~ I'm just here to give my little brother something he forgot" he chuckled and showed you the book in his hand. You stared at him and he let out another giggle. "The names Laito, Sa~ka~ma~ki~ Lai~to" he sang as he pulled you closer to his chest and made your cheeks burn red. "Come on now~ I introduced myself, aren't you going to do the same?" he pouted and asked you.

"A-ah, my names (F/N)" you stammered and looked at him with a very shaky smile. By the time you realized it, you had approached your class and he let go of you.

"Well (F/N)-chan~ if I don't get going, I'm going to get late, so could you please pass this on to my baka brother~" he asked you as he extended his arm holding the book. You nodded and took the book, and he let out a small smile. In seconds, he ruffled your hair and walked passed you. You turned to face him, and he waved goodbye. "Perhaps we'll see eachother later little lamb~" he said before disappearing into nowhere.

Sakamaki Laito, the first brother you had met out of the six.

*end of flashback*

"To think we'd meet in this way. It must be fate" he jokes as he interrupts your thoughts and hums afterwards.

"Ne... Laito-san... how did you know I was here?" you ask the guy curiously as you look around and think. Afterall, you didn't know where you were, but this guy, he looked as if he had no trouble finding you here.

"Hm~ what can I say? I was sleeping, and then I smelled something different, so I went down to check" he said and looked at the day sky.

"And?" you mutter.

"And when I went down, I saw Bitch-chan running around screaming your name like a little fly" he chuckles and looks at you.

"But that doesn't tell me how you knew I'd be here" you state and rest your chin on your knees.

"Oh~ it was simple. I followed your scent" he grins and sends a seductive smirk at you. You stare at the guy and then allow a small titter to escape upon hearing what he said. "My scent? That's ridiculous" you say as a small smile appears on your face as Laito looks at you gently. You stare at him curiously because he looked serious when he said that, and slowly bring your nose to the side of your shirt and sniff it. 'I can't smell anything' you state mentally as Laito lets off a small giggle leaving you extremely embarrassed.

"Now back to the point~ to see Subaru-kun extremely pissed off there and you crying over here, surely there's a problem" he says as he looks at you and sighs. You shake your head and shrug it off in attempt to divert the topic but he didn't budge. "You've either been a victim to Subaru-kun's anger or his sweetness" he chuckles towards the end and you couldn't help but let out a small giggle.

"Why would I be crying if Subaru-kun was nice to me you idiot" you say as you nudge his arm with your knuckle and smile.

"Oh~ so it wasn't because of that? Then what's the problem?" he asks you as he leans back on his arms and turns his head to his side to meet yours. You sigh and explain what happened when you entered the mansion and how Subaru was a rude jerk to you.

"So that's what happened? But it's Subaru-kun we're talking about, such words coming from that violent mouth of his is normal isn't it?" he asks you in an unsure tone.

"Yeah, I mean he does have that 'Don't fuck with me' aura around him, but I didn't even do anything this time" you reply and pout a bit, causing Laito to look at you in disbelief. "I'm not crying about him being mean or anything" you add before the guy opens his mouth.

"Ara? Then?" he asks you.

"Sometimes even words pierce like daggers" you mutter only causing Laito's confusion to build up. "Words like 'useless', 'pathetic', 'worse' and all, I've pretty much been hearing that from everyone I come across, even my parents" you say as a shaky smile appears on your face as you try to hold back the urge to cry again.

"Is that so? Words huh... Then I must say you and Subaru-kun are pretty similar in that matter" Laito lets out a serious statement from that playful mouth of his, immediately catching your attention. He gets up and extends his hand, and smiles. You take it and he pulls you up and ruffles your hair, and soon takes a few steps away from you. You look at the guy with confusion dripping from every inch of your body as you cock your head to the side and attempt to digest whatever he just said.

"Now (Y/N)-chan, shall we go~ we have a small crowd waiting at home" he says as you nod and run towards him and stare at the ground as you walk. Silence creeped in as you both continued to walk with him leading, but your mind was now twisting with confusion. You sigh as Laito's words keeping playing in your mind. 'Subaru-kun and I are similar huh? What made you say that Laito-san?' you mentally ask yourself as you let out a troubled sigh.
