N A T A L I A

"No, they can't do that!", Natalia sobbed on Nick's shoulder.

"I've just been to the station, they said they'll open up the case again if they get a new lead. Its a cold case, for now", Nick says.

"If they find a new lead?", Nat's incredulous voice says, a look of defeat eminent on her features. She didn't know whom to turn to. None of her best friends had ever lost a loved one, they won't understand what it's like. Well, she thought, atleast Nick's here. Alex was his cousin after all, he knows how it feels.

"When the paramedics arrived at the site", continues Nick, "there was only blood, no body. Apparently, Alex had been smoking, they'd found a cigarette on the ground. They say they got lucky with the timing; any later, and the rain would've washed everything away. Turned it over to the police who got intelligence from the forensics that they got a DNA match."

"How was Alex in the system?"

"He was not particularly famous with the cops. Anyway, that, paired up with the Missing Persons report that we filed; the best they could tell me was that Alex plausibly was involved with the nutters up North", sighs Nick.

"But he wasn't!"

"Well, Nat, we never do keep our secrets in one person, do we? They're scattered over."

"What about the caller? Street cams?"

"They say its untraceable. As for the cameras, I'm told the lens was damaged due to the showers."

"That's bullshit!", exclaims Nat. "I'm calling the hospital, they have to have the number."

"I'll do it", says Nick. "They're much probable to release such info to a relative... Hey", he says, holding her, "When everything's calmed a notch, we should go to my lakehouse for awhile, away from the prying eyes. Just the four of us." Nat looked up at him, thinking he knew her better than Ally or Lana.

Nick plants a kiss on her temple and goes to make the call.

"Here", he says minutes later, passing a scribbled paper. Natalia takes one look at the number, thinking it was vaguely familiar. She punches in the digits into her handset; just for the sake of it, and stops dead when the phonebook displays a name. Alyse.

Nick looks over her shoulder and curses under his breath. "Of course it was untraceable. Are you gonna report her?"

"Oh no", Natalia's mind turning. She'd had many sleepovers with her supposed friend, and just as many raucous adventures. She knew what Alyse loved the most.

"What're you gonna do?"

"Cyber Bullying."
