Selene is continuously working on my figure, and every day, I enjoy my new body more and more. It's not perfect, but I'm starting to be able to smell, and the green tint to my skin has faded. I'm learning more and more about making my own decisions and talking like a human. My feelings are more complex, and I could swear, sometimes, I can feel my heart deep inside me.
Selene has been urging me to blend into society lately. I go on walks by myself, and I even have a part-time job. Human males have been giving me their numbers, but I never know what to do with them. Selene says I should call, but she doesn't look happy when she says that, so I never do.
I hang out with Selene whenever I can. I talk to her constantly, practicing everything I can to seem human. We talk about everything, but my favorite topic is the ocean. I've scrounged through the internet, reading as much information as possible. I've even found a marine biology program at the local university. I desperately want to go, but Selene says she can't pay for it. I feel bad whenever I bring it up because she looks so sad. I don't want her to ever be sad.

"Ari!" Selene's voice rings out as she enters the apartment through the front door. "I have a surprise for you!"
I stand up from petting her cat, and she jumps in front of me, her many-colored skirt swaying around her calves. She holds up two thin pieces of paper. I look at them quizzically.
"Tickets! To the grand re-opening of the New York Aquarium!"
My eyes widen. If my breath existed, it would have stopped.
"I know you wanted to go, but its been under construction for years. I happen to know a diver, and he... got these for us. Do you want to go?" Her eyes are glowing with excitement, drawing me in. For a moment, I forget to answer.
"Yes!" I finally cry.
