Selene led Ari into the aquarium. She bit her lip, her heart pounding in her chest. Ari's so excited, and Selene was glad she could finally do something for her.
Once inside, she led Ari to every exhibit, breathlessly watching and waiting to see which one was her favorite. She gazed in wonder at the fish, otters, dolphins, penguins, and every other animal of the sea. Selene tried to focus on what made her most excited, but she couldn't take her eyes off Ari.
She may have crafted Ari's skin and chosen her hair, but that didn't matter anymore. Through her growth magic, the human-like modifications had taken on a form of their own, giving Ari a unique heart-shaped face with freckles spattering her nose. The dark red hair grew on its own, and even though it had started just above the shoulders, it now reached to Ari's shoulder blades and swayed every time she turned her head. Green eyes flashed at Selene, probably from her magic, and small pink lips smiled every time they looked at each other.
Selene's heart felt like it was going to jump right out of her chest. She had never imagined that when she built this rebel robot, something like this could happen.
She grabbed Ari's hand. Ari smiled at her and kept looking at the otters, swirling around and playing in their tank. She glowed in the blue light.
