happiness.
it was a word deeply inscribed into jeongguk's life. it didn't mean he didn't have hard times. he did, but he was happy.
it wasn't an ideal nor did he feign it. it was a state of mind, thriving, because he was at peace with himself.
a happy kid, jeongguk was. content with himself, a loving family, a fair few friends, he had everything he could've ever wished for.
except one.
love.
but he waited, for what age was seventeen to wish for love and relationships? what would come, would come someday and jeongguk knew that it'd be beautiful.
not that it stopped him from having a fair few crushes. heck, he might've had about a hundred.
and so it had been till perhaps the day before when jeongguk accompanied his mother to the observatory. it had seemed like a tedious task sitting up all night long dumbly looking above observing the heavens for what use was it when one could simply stay at home and sleep?
but he didn't object for he didn't wish to break his mother's heart. she cherished a love for the stars, a love that Jeongguk didn't quite understand but he didn't dare question it for it made his mother happy. and that meant the world to him.
and so he went, hoping it might end early at the very least, so that he could catch up on his precious sleep. but all sleep seemed to have been tugged away when his eyes fell on
a boy.
soft, blonde hair, straight nose, thin crimson lips, soft breadcheeks dusted in the colour of honey and warm, brown eyes.
the way those irises looked up at the stars as if they were his life, his home, his everything. The same sort of love that his mother cherished accentuated and revived perhaps a million times more in his young features.
jeongguk couldn't help but look at him all the while, feeling his heartbeat trying to race light.
that boy shone like a star himself.
