Chapter 5: Announcement no. 2

Kazuto's POV

Me and Asuna woke up to the sound of the doorbell. I kissed her and went to the door.

Looking through the peephole, I see Liz and Silica. I opened the door and they were smiling.

"Hey! We came to check up on Asuna and the baby." Said Liz.

"Thanks guys! Hey can you gather everyone? Can we meet up at dicey café again?" I said.

"Yeah sure. What's the occasion?" Said Silica.

"You'll see." I responded.

*Time Skip*

Me and Asuna had just left the house. I made sure I made her a healthy breakfast, one with loads of vitamins and gave her some fruit. She needs to be healthy in order for our baby to be healthy.

We walked over to our car. Didn't want to risk Asuna's safety on my motorcycle now that she has our little one.

I drove us into town to get to dicey café and everyone had already beat us there.

"Hey guys, this is gonna be another quick one. I feel much better if we tell all of you in person and together. Me and Asuna... are getting-" I was cut off by the sound of a gunshot.

A strange man with a ski mask entered the café with a gun in hand. He pointed the gun at Agil behind the counter. At this point I knew this guy wasn't playing around and I grabbed Asuna and put her behind me. I slowly picked up the baseball bat that Agil keeps behind the counter and so far the thief hasn't noticed.

"Give me the money!" He demanded.

"Okay bro just chill." Agil responded, giving him the money.

"50 bucks?!? Are you kidding me?!?"

"Sorry man, we aren't very busy." Agil pleaded.

"Well you know what else isn't busy? My gun! Now someone is gonna die, to pay for the money I need."

Everyone gasped. Right here, I knew I had to stop this guy. He started to move his gun toward Asuna and I reacted.

Dashing toward him, he shot me.

The bat went flying and Agil caught it as he took time to recover from the recoil. The thief to a bat to the head. But I took a bullet to the chest.

As I was shot, everyone screamed. An ambulance and police were called and were on their way. I was passed out from the blood loss and pain. I was dying.

I heard cries from my fiancée, sister, aunt and uncle. As well as gasps and distress from friends.

*Time Skip*

I woke up. But not in a hospital bed. I was in ALO.

I was confused. Was everything just some horrific dream? I looked around and no Asuna. She must be IRL so I attempted to logout... attempted.

No logout button?!? I was confused. Had to be a bug right?!? This can't happen again! I thought.

Then Kikuoka logged in and calmed me down.

"Relax Kirigaya. This isn't another SAO incident."

"Then how come I can't logout?!?"

He sighed. "I'm truly sorry. That gunshot was much more damaging than we initially thought. The bullet had just missed your heart and is close to your spine. Doctors are struggling to take it out. The slightest slip up and they can either paralyse you for life or kill you." I was dumbfounded. "You had been put into a medically induced coma and placed into a mediciboid. You will most likely be here for a couple weeks. At least." My heart dropped.

"But Asuna! I have to take care of her! She's pregnant! We're supposed to be getting married! I need to take care of her!" I exclaimed.

"Don't worry. She is being takes care of by her family and any financial help needed is covered by us for our debt needed to pay for the cases you've solved for virtual affairs." He responded.

"I will be okay won't I?" I worriedly asked.

He sighed again. " I can't promise anything. I'm sorry."

My life may be over.

Asuna's POV

I was crying for hours straight. My fiancée had been shot and may not live. He had been placed into a mediciboid and instantly reminded me of Yuuki. But right now, this is about him.

I was crying outside of his hospital room, balling my eyes out when some stranger walks up to me and tries to comfort me.

"Hey are you okay?" He asked.

"No! I'm not!" I retaliated at his stupid question.

"Hey, It's okay. You'll get through this." He says trying to comfort me again.

"It's not about whether I'll make it through this it's whether he will! I'm not the one in that hospital room!"

"Right I'm sorry... I'm Itsuki." He said.

"I'm uninterested." I responded. "I'm sorry, I'm being really rude. I'm just really upset. My fiancée was just shot and he is in a coma right now."

"Oh. Fiancée huh? That's nice. Well if you need anyone to talk to, I'm free. Here's my number." He handed me a piece pf paper then walked away.

Was he really just upset that I was engaged. Are you telling me that he tried to exploit Kazuto's situation for a cat call?!? I was furious and ripped up the paper. I continued to cry for my lover.

Itsuki's POV

Damn it! She has a fiancée! Ridiculous! She was really pretty, that's a shame. But... she was way too hot, she has to be a slut, there's no way there's a pure girl in this world that hot! Even if I can't taste those sweet lips I can at least get my dick wet hehe. Wait... what?!? Did she just rip up my number? That bitch! Shit! I'll just have to keep my eye on this gem.
