As many of you are likely aware of the rising racism and police brutality problems in America right now, I suggest you help take a stand and try your best to support the cause. I, myself, am not of color but I have quite a few friends who are, and I would hate to see them harmed in any way.
Because I write like it's the last thing I'll ever do, I wrote something to go along with the #BlackLivesMatter movement on social platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and even here on Wattpad. Tell me what you think after you've read it over!
Tear gas bombs and peaceful protesting
Two very different methods used that bring illegal arresting.
When it's not white blood that you splatter
Tell me why black lives do not matter?
People are dying in the streets everyday
And all the cops say is, "Get out of the way."
The pressing issue is much too dire
Because you burn down their hope with your words and your fire.
Fighting against those that are wrong
Is what this world needs to bring it along.
America's falling, but we could rise up
If the people with guns would simply let up
Shooting and burning and breaking and falling
Hurting and shoving and killing and brawling.
They fought for their rights, and they rightfully won
So why can't you tell me why you make them run?
Our 14th Amendment says the law should protect us
All the citizens America has, under a militia we can trust
Harm against a citizen is strictly stated as wrong
So why is peace taking so long?
BLACK LIVES MATTER
And there's no reason they shouldn't
Why are they being peaceful
When you obviously couldn't
BLACK LIVES MATTER
And that's on that
Nothing should fight their rights
BECAUSE THE MOST DESERVING PEOPLE OF OUR COUNTRY ARE BLACK
Police brutality needs to end, and so does racism, sexism, and discrimination against minorities. Speak up for what you know, even if you think nobody's gonna see or hear you. The best people are the ones who fight without seeking recognition from things other than their goal. There's always the chance that you spark something AMAZING.
