Shui Miaomiao managed to regain her balance and stop herself from falling. She was a little angry. She looked at Shen Mochen and asked, “There are stairs behind me. Did you do that on purpose? What if I’d fallen?”

“You said that you’re not afraid of me. Why are you backing away then?” Shen Mochen smiled cheerfully as his dark eyes seemed to look through her.

He had done it on purpose!

Shui Miaomiao felt she was like a clown jumping on a beam in front of him. Everything was under his control.

He had control of everything and had the power to meddle with her in his hands.

She didn’t like the feeling of having to try to escape from it.

Shui Miaomiao was very angry. She raised the corner of her mouth and agreed with his assumption. “Oh, very well then. I am afraid of you.”

A sharp light flashed in Shen Mochen’s charming eyes. It was as if he was angry, but the flicker seemed to be so suited to his eyes that were as wide as the universe.

Shui Miaomiao tried to guess what he was thinking but was unable to. She saw that he was smiling slightly.

She had a bad feeling about what was about to happen.

Suddenly, Shen Mochen let go of her.

Shui Miaomiao lost her balance and fell backward without any warning. Her eyes widened, and she pulled Shen Mochen’s collar towards her subconsciously.

He was pulled forward by her.

Shui Miaomiao fell onto the floor. She had not even been able to sense the pain when Shen Mochen began to fall on top of her.

Shui Miaomiao thought the imminent crush would kill her.

She gasped.

However, Shen Mochen put his hands down on the floor to support his body.

Their lips touched.

Shui Miaomiao felt a tingling sensation on her lips. It was like a flash of electricity.

It only lasted for a second.

Shen Mochen pushed her away.

His eyes were looking deeply at her.

There was only ten centimeters between their faces.

Shui Miaomiao took a breath, another breath, and another breath.

She could clearly see two tiny reflections of herself in his eyes.

Embarrassed, she blushed, feeling irritated at the same time.

Shui Miaomiao stared at him in frustration, her eyes wide open.

“What are you looking at?” Shen Mochen asked mischievously.

“Aren’t humans born to be looked at?” Shui Miaomiao replied.

Shen Mochen smiled and said, “You responded to that well.”

He got up and looked down at Shui Miaomiao, who was still sitting on the ground. He held out his hand to help her up.

Shui Miaomiao tapped away his hand rudely. She got up from the ground and dusted herself off.

Shen Mochen peered at her bottom and asked, “Does it hurt?”

Asking when you know the answer!

Shui Miaomiao said wryly, “Why don’t you, Professor Shen, try it once yourself and see if it hurts?”

“Since it hurts, remember the pain. Stop talking nonsense.” Shen Mochen glanced meaningfully at her and walked away.

Shui Miaomiao frowned and narrowed her eyes as she looked at his tall and straight back.

Talking nonsense?

He meant what she had said: I would make a detour when I see you?

Shui Miaomiao had a strange feeling in her heart. Would they have another opportunity to meet?

He looked very similar to Yanyan. Were they somehow related to each other?

Or was it just a coincidence.

When Shui Miaomiao slowly regained her senses, she realized she had followed Shen Mochen into the housing area opposite the maternity hospital.

The housing area was a little old and looked a little shabby from outside.

It seemed out of tune with the modern, rich look that Shen Mochen presented to others.

Shui Miaomiao glanced at his perfect profile. She had not expected him to live in a place like this.

Shen Mochen turned his head around and saw the suspicious look in her eyes.

Shui Miaomiao immediately turned away from him. She tried to act casual, and she unconsciously tugged at her hair gently as it fell into her face.

Shen Mochen smiled meaningfully and explained to her, “I studied at the elementary school in the Bo’ai Road for the first part of my education. So, my family bought a house for me here to make it convenient for me to go to school.”
