Chapter V - The Basement

Sorry for the long update😂 i'm suuuuperr busy to my house job (as a big sister :v), i hope you'll forgive me :'), and again sorry to my bad english and grammar.

Sofia's POV

At morning breakfast...

"I wonder where's Amber..." dad asked

"I don't know, dad....yesterday night, i thought amber was on the basement"

"Wait...you go to the basement? With the old wood door?" mom asked with a shock

"Yea...why?'

"You should't go there" James told me in an angry tone

"S-sorry"

james finishes his breakfast quickly, it's strange ... he usually talk much while eating.

"I need to go, I have an appointment"

"Sure dear" mom answerd

suddenly, James's eyes looked at me sarcastically ... as if to say I shouldn't follow him. Then he left

"Mom, i think i have a stomache, i gotta go"

And i ran following James quietly. I followed him, he looked suspicious with his unusual walks and behavior, he went through the hallway of the palace, past Mr. cedric's workshop, and stop in front of the old wooden door.

I stopped behind a pillar to hide, at that moment I saw James holding a knife covered in blood,
suddenly a big gross rat passed in front of my feet and sniffed my feet, I tried not to scream ... I closed my mouth tightly

"Shooooo....shoooo!" i whispered to drive away the rat

"Holy crackles, don't kiss my shoes, that's gross"

I reflexively kicked the rat, The rat landed right behind James, he immediately pointed his knife at the rat.

i gasped

I shouldn't gasp like that, James looked at me, and he walked towards me while preparing his knife, I chose to hold my breath, and not move behind the pillar, I heard the sound of his footsteps that were getting closer and closer. I pray to God, will this be the end of my life? killed by my own brother? the sound of his footsteps getting closer, Suddenly, my amulet shines...

"why is it getting worse, he'll know that I'm here, stop shine!!" i talk to myself quietly

ok, looks like he's right behind that pillar, I was ready to die.

he accelerated his pace and BOOM, he was right in front of me! with his cruel look, it made me weak. the weak me can only sit while holding my head.

"hm ... I thought I heard something" he said

Then he walked away,
he did not see me! he went back to the old door, left me. It seems like my amulet has helped me, giving a transparent effect to me so that he doesn't see me. THANK GOD T.T i just want to cryyyyyy....
