"Scyther!"
"Ariados!"
"Ribombee!"
"Zoroark! Agility!" Kairi commanded.
"Flygon, Dragon Breath!" Dakota followed.
They had only been inside Luxen Stadium for three minutes.
"Roark!" Zoroark cried, using his increased speed to rally the numerous Bug Types towards Flygon's aim.
"...Gon!"
The classic neon purple ray blasted them, the ones in the air, dropping. Almost instantly, more Scyther appeared, one of them connected Fury Cutter onto Zoroark.
"Dragon Breath, Flygon!" Dakota shouted. "Kairi, c'mon!"
It's like the Stamina Chamber all over again!!
Quickly ascending up stairs, through hallways, shops, and finally past a set of double doors, they quickly found themselves hiding in one of the locker rooms.
"We should be safe for a little while." Dakota stated.
"Are you okay, Z?" Kairi asked, checking her Pokémon's wound. The super effective move had left a dark red gash across his stomach.
"Zor..." he nodded. His health was still in the green. The Leftovers had helped.
"You didn't drop the bag, right?" Dakota suddenly asked.
Kairi shook her head, shuffling a small bag that Cassidy had given her before they entered. Inside were three black, rectangular objects. A wave of relief hit her when she realized none of them had fallen out.
"What are these things anyway?" Dakota asked, picking one up and inspecting it.
"No clue." Kairi replied. "But we can't stay here for much longer. We only have 25 minutes now to deliver all of them. Cassidy said there would be a trigger for each one on the first three floors above the ground one."
"Fly..."
"She's right." Dakota nodded. "There's one on this floor. Let's go find it."
Kairi placed the bag around her neck. The four of them carefully exited the locker room, readying themselves for any Pokémon that would attack.
Luxen Stadium for the third Elite Trial, was thankfully room temperature. The previous trial's red hue had been swapped to a shade of dark green. Around them, the interior of the place was covered in Ariados webbing along with, strangely, what appeared to be several rows of bookshelves lining the walls. Inside all of them were different colored books that had no titles on any of their spines.
The triggers were described to them as "glowing squares" and functioned as the location a single rectangular object could be placed on.
Earlier that night, one pair of challengers had only found two triggers before their 30 minute time limit had expired. Taylor and Andrew had been the first pair to move on.
"There's one!" Dakota signaled, pointing. The trigger was directly ahead, sitting in the corner of the cafeteria. In the center of it was a good rectangular outline. A bright turquoise glowed from its edges.
"Nice catch!" Kairi said, pulling one of the objects out of the bag and approaching it. She slowly pressed the object against the trigger.
Instantly, the object stuck. The trigger glowed green as a result.
"Roark!"
Kairi quickly turned around.
The first thing she saw was the mask. It was frowning.
