"Zoroark...?" Kairi asked as she knelt down beside him.
"...Roark..." he muttered. His eyes quickly opened as his health was restored.
"T-that was sloppy of me..." Kairi gently spoke. "I should've known not to let Garchomp lead you like that."
"Zor..." Her Pokémon responded, getting back up.
She watched as he walked back to the center of the field, looking back at her in understanding.
He trusted his Trainer and wasn't going to let her down.
On the other side, Garchomp was given only a Hyper Potion.
Miko stared at Kairi, knowing her plan was all coming together.
Nothing else from the encyclopedia can help now. Even using Illusion is too risky. You have to be more careful, Kairi!
"Here we go! Second fall!" The referee exclaimed, asking both challengers if they were ready.
He signaled to the buzzer.
"Garchomp! Dragon Claw!" Miko commanded.
"Dodge it, Z!" Kairi responded. "Use Night Daze!"
"Hyper Beam, Garchomp!"
Again, Garchomp was lightning fast, quickly recovering from missing and firing back.
Can't let Dragon Claw hit. We have to set up.
"Zoroark, Nasty Plot!" Kairi yelled.
"Roark!" He cried, boosting his Special Attack by plus one.
Miko smiled from the other side. "That's a freebie from us. Cause you know, we've already beaten you once and it sure as hell won't be the only time!"
The two challengers stared at each other. One focused and on edge, the other in total comfort.
"Garchomp. Earthquake!~"
"Zoroark, dodge it and use Nasty Plot!"
"Dragon Claw, Garchomp!"
"Zoroark!"
Zoroark just barely managed to escape Garchomp's range, sacrificing the added increase to his Special Attack.
"Nasty Plot!"
"Dragon Claw!"
"Dodge it!"
Again! They're always catching up to us...!
"Zoroark, Extrasensory!"
"Garchomp, Dodge it and use Dragon Claw!"
"Zoroark, use Toxic!" Kairi bellowed.
In the arena, Garchomp launched up again, towards Zoroark, who fired a large blast of purple in response.
"Chomp...!" The land shark cried out as it was poisoned. Instantly, purple droplets leaked out of it, lowering its health partially.
