*Ivan's POV*My ashy blond locks dragged and danced in the wind. My nose, a pinkish red from the cold air hitting me in the face. Teeth, clamped together in a tight embrace. My tears turned to crystals of ice as they slid down my cheeks. The pale scarf that wrapped around my neck felt like it was getting tighter as it flailed behind me. Maybe i'm dying.. It feels as if i am.. I cant breathe.. A sharp pain started in my side but my legs wouldn't stop running. The dirt crunched and squeaked as it was trampled over by my boots.
I almost tumbled and tripped over my feet while I ran past the trees. The moonlight illuminated the bushes and tall forest trees. The green and blue hues of the leaves in the white light danced all around me. Branches hit my face as i ducked under a particularly smaller tree. I couldn't help but wonder, is that little tree lonely? Significantly smaller than the rest. Sitting at the bottom with no other trees to talk to. Was he lonely? Getting little to no sunlight. His little leaves barely surviving. He can't keep up like that forever. Surely he will soon die from the bigger trees taking the sunlight. Who do those bigger trees think they are? Who do they think they are to take all his things away? Who is that little tree? The little boy who was left in the snow, constantly being harassed and bullied. All he wants is friends.. That's all he wanted from the start. Just some friends...
Tears slipped from my eyes once more. Viktor was supposed to be my friend! I kept on running until i reached a clearing in the forest. I dropped to the ground and began digging with my gloved hands. Dirt and pebbles sprayed up onto my face and hair. Brown smudges appeared on my cheek as i tore at the earth. My eyes searched frantically for the reflective surface I was looking for. My finger finally caught a smooth surface. My face broke into a grin and tears streamed down my face. I pulled the long mirror out the the ground. Dirt caked the back side but if it worked, that's all that matters. A shard in the mirror was cracked and gone. I had only cracked it so Viktor couldn't come back, but i guess that didn't work. I reached into my pocket and grabbed the shard. Quickly, I stood and placed the missing puzzle piece back. I held my breath... The mirror began to glow a deep red. My breath hitched. I set the mirror up against a tree and looked at the mirror. It didn't show a reflection, but instead a whole new world. I closed my eyes. "This is for Alfred." And with that, I walked in.
