13th November, Friday, 8:27am
"Yes, I will call you later, promised." the boy said while making himself some last-minute breakfast before he had to leave for work.
(Y/N) (L/N) was now 20 years old and visiting the local university. Ironically, it was not local. (Y/N) had to move out of his parents' house and into one of the student apartments in Yokohama. He managed to pay the rent by working in different restaurants around the campus. Again, his last workplace had to shut down and the male was about to begin his second week in the new surroundings.
"Ah shit, I won't make it, I will call you, love you!" in more than a hurry the phone was brutally smashed with a thumb before being put in the small pocket of some jeans.
His love live had also changed after the summer break was over and new classmates found their way in.
Hiroto Harade was also one of those newcomers. One thing led to another one and after a romantic date during winter break, they decided it was the right time to start dating.
Their relationship had been holding for almost three years now. (Y/N) managed to forget Dazai and remembered the whole situation as a lesson of life, still, a very hard time.
Running, the (H/C) male managed to reach the restaurant just on time, 3 minutes before his shift began.
"Honestly, why do I have to work on the only day when I have no lessons? Well, at least I have money...and get some free food sometimes." sighing while changing into his usual red and black workwear, (Y/N) stepped out only to see a familiar face waiting to get served some breakfast.
"Hurry up, I got a lesson at 10." Kaito smiled brightly as he finally saw the smaller male taking place behind the counter.
The boys are still very close to each other, together with Misaki they are still a group. But things changed. Misa went out of town as she wanted to find the best university, she ended up in the middle of Tokyo. Kai started working as a carpenter in his family business. (Y/N) continued to learn as much as possible about (insert your interest) before maybe taking over his parents Café.
They promised to see each other at least once every two months while Kaito tried to get some free food from (Y/N) while he was working. As well as his boyfriend.
"Sorry, sorry. Hiroto was calling again. He will be back from his internship tomorrow and wants to bring me something, but he can't decide, he keeps asking me weird questions." A small smile sneaked itself on the (E/C) boy as he took some rice and miso soup out of the big pots for his friend.
"Must be happy to see him again after a month, ha?"
"I sure am. Imagen you would see Miriam after a moth again. You would probably cling to me for those weeks in between." smirking, he looked at the male out of the corners of his eyes while placing the white bowls on the food tray.
"Oh, shut it. I would not. Besides, you had been calling me more than normally during the last weeks. Clingy?" the brown-haired was smiling as his breakfast was placed in front of him.
"No, I just had a different timetable than normally. You know, couple stuff fell out. Besides I knew that you don't have anything to do."
(Y/N) was happy about the fact that there were only regulars around in the morning. He found time to talk with his friend for a few minutes while not being rude to others or being supposed to do something else.
Still, he never found the courage to tell anybody about the real reason why he 'broke up' with his old boyfriend. Even thought that a little bit less than three years had passed.
Nobody actually knows that it wasn't because he moved to Europe for a glorious future.
And it looks like nobody will ever know that expect them, him and Dazai.
