1944

Cassandra pulled a red shoe onto her foot. She was going to the bar with James, Steve and a few others that they rescued from Hydra. Peggy told her she had to dress nice, and she obliged, even if she hated wearing dresses longer than her shins. Peggy said she would go too so Cassandra wouldn't have to be alone, she would just have to be there later.

Somebody knocked on their door, and Cassandra went to answer it. A man with a mail uniform, and a bag, read off a clip board.

"I have a letter for Agent Lucy Hawthorne," he said, looking at her.
"That would be me," she said.
"Here ya go, and if you could just sign here," he said, handing her a pen.

Cassandra scribbled her fake signature onto the paper, and the man handed her an envelope. He tipped his hat at her, and left. Cassandra closed the door and sat on her cot, carefully tearing the envelope open. A rather large slip of paper was inside, and she unfolded it.

To- Agent Cassandra Barnes

Your service in Hydra is no longer required. You have failed Agent.

Signed, Doctor Johann Schmidt, Director of Hydra

Cassandra grumbled and crumpled up the paper and tossed it into the bin Peggy and Cassandra were using as a trash can. Cassandra laid back, staring at the ceiling. This was only because Schmidt was angry at her for attacking him, and she felt the same way about him. But in any case, where the heck could she possibly go without being caught?

"Lucy? Are you alright?" Peggy asked, standing over her.
"Yeah Peg, I'm fine, I just hate this dress." She complained.
"You should get going."
"Please, can you go with me right now, I don't want to be alone!"
"You won't be alone, you have Sergeant Barnes," Peggy said.
"Margaret Carter! How dare you!"

Peggy was about to say something, but another knock interrupted the woman. Peggy opened the door, said a few things to the person on the other side, before smiling deviously at Cassandra. She sighed and stood up, preparing a fake smile.

Peggy opened the door all the way, and there stood her brother. She smiled, spinning so her dress twirled around her. Peggy winked, and Cassandra hit her lightly on the shoulder.

"Don't I look stunning?" Cassandra said with a British accent.
"Oh yes darling," Peggy and James said in unison.

"See you later Peggy." Cassandra said.
"

Bye Lucy," she said smirking once more before shutting the door.

Cassandra walked next to James, arm around his waist because she couldn't really reach his shoulder. Even in heels. Small drops of rain fell on the brother and sister, and Cassandra's head fell back as she tried to catch drops on her tongue. She almost fell over once or twice, and James just laughed at her while helping her stand up.
