Chapter 9
I felt like a complete fool. I wanted to crawl into a ball and cry for the rest of the night. Why was I feeling this way about him? All these crazy thoughts ran through my mind as I lay sprawled out on my bed. My blanket was twisted around me like a giant soft pretzel.
I needed to get out of this house and do something fun. In the past 2 days I had seen a dead girl and had my heart completely crushed by the guy I was lusting after. I needed to have fun, but there was nothing in this town to do, especially now since all of the crazy animal attacks.
“Screw this crap!” I yelled to myself. I quickly jumped up from the bed. “I’m going out to do something.” My determination was overpowering my judgment as a sane individual. I knew it probably wasn’t safe outside but as long as I stayed away from wooded areas I should be fine.
I quickly jumped in the shower and decided on dressing up for the night. A little makeup and a cute outfit would make this night even better. My reflection in the mirror had changed back to normal except my eye color; I no longer looked like someone on the verge of death. I tightened up my bouncy curls and put on some eyeliner and blush to round out my semi natural look.
I slipped on a pair of cute jeans a comfortable shirt and I threw on a cardigan just in case I got cold. My phone slid smoothly into my back pocket with my house key.
The mall was only about a thirty minute walk from my house. It was fairly average size and not that busy this time of night. I decided to head directly for the food court to grab a small snack before heading to the arcade where I was bound to find some distractions for a while.
The soft cookie was exactly what I needed. The chocolate chips melted quickly in my mouth sending little shocking sensations all throughout my checks. The sharp prickling pain made me wince and grab my checks.
Oh my god this is good! I thought to myself.
“You seem to really be enjoying that cookie.” An unfamiliar voice came from over behind the crane machine.
I looked up from my food to find an extremely hot male leaned up casually to the crane machine. He had to be over 6 foot tall. He had jet black hair that was in a slightly slicked back style. He was beyond attractive. My heart hammered so loudly that I was sure he could hear it.
His eyes were the kind of blue that you could completely sink into. I am sure that if they were water I would drown. He was wearing a black leather jacket over a black plain shirt with the sleeves pushed up completely exposing his arms. Black and grey tattoos laced up both his arms leaving me to wander what else was tattooed. He had an extremely sexy aurora wafting from him. His body just oozed of coolness.
My checks burned with embarrassment. I quickly snatched the cookie from my face and tossed it over in the nearest trash can and discreetly wiped away any and all crumbs from my being before he had the chance to scan me completely over.
“Ha ha, um yea I was.” I tried my best not to make complete eye contact with him. I felt his hot gaze on my face as I shifted my weight uneasily in place.
A small laugh arose from within him. “I didn’t mean to embarrass you.”
Well I guess I now know that I am horrible at hiding those types of feelings. “You didn’t.” I tried my best to play it off.
He smiled and just shook his head. “What’s your name cookie girl?”
Well I now have a nickname from a completely hot stranger. Great way to get to know people I guess. I really felt like burying my head into the garbage can next to my delicious cookie.
