Once there was a scrupulous royal family, who lived in a palace near the river which was believed to be haunted for the trees on its sides were full of hanging vines that makes it looks terribly horrendous. Everyone under their realm were not allowed to even go near it. They called it River of Windemere for it was believed that there was once an old castle that sinks upon falling under a witch's spell. Old folks said that it was due to the refusal of the the King in giving his only son to the witch. The late Queen was believed to be also killed upon giving birth because of the witch's jealousy. The raging wrath of the witch started when the King which she was deeply inloved with, dumped her and chose to marry the late Queen during their younger years.

Inspite being reminded everyday not to go to the river, the four princesses were very much yearning to feed their curiousity. After finding out about the secret library that contains all the information about the sunken castle, they decided to sneak out one night and tried their luck in doing the steps written in the book to break the spell. Several attempts and they didn't succeed until their parents found out what they're doing and locked them in their room as a punishment. But instead of giving up and learned their lessons already after seeing that the their countless tries didn't work, the princesses were more determined to prove whether what their folks and the books said was true or not. One silent night, they managed to fool their servants to get the book from the secret library and since their parents strongly thought that they already learned their lessons after weeks of being locked, they didn't bother to check the books in the library anymore. The princesses read the steps again and again and tried to spot which steps did they missed doing until they found out that they need to pass through the hidden door in order to reach the sunken castle. Liliana, the youngest among the princesses were a bit hesitant of what they are going to do but she gave in anyway. Margarette, the oldest one, leads their another attempt in breaking the spell. She reads the directions and her younger sisters helped her breaking out every codes written on the book. It turns out that they need to find the hidden staircase located in one of the corners of their room. Finding the stairs was not easy. There is no other clue written in the book aside from the notes and some lines that assembles a song. Victoria, the second-born, started analyzing the notes while Alexandra was trying to sing it in different tones until the floor was suddenly filled with glimmering bright lights and the stairs were appearing slowly.
The four princesses stood in a great awe. Margarette leads their way down which was quickly followed by their two sisters and the reluctant Liliana. The walk was quite long that it took them hours until they reach a golden door that is marked with "OFF LIMITS"using a wicked strokes of bloody letters. The books states that they needed to open the door carefully without making a creaking sound or else they will woke up the witch who's guarding the whole place. They were able to open the door successfully and went inside the castle not knowing what are they going to do next. As they continued roaming around sneakily, Liliana notice a wicked woman sleeping on the far corner of the hallway. Driven by her fear again, she quickly suggested that it's better for them to leave already before anything worse will happen. Margarette didn't agree thus paved her way to one of the biggest room instead, leaving the three other sisters no choice but to follow her. The door was open so they went in slowly and they hear voices coming from the terrace. They peeked out and saw two people talking in small voices. After making sure that they were harmless, the sisters decided to show themselves to them.

Prince Nicholas, almost the same age as Margarette were wondering how did they learned about the secret route. They sat down, told them every thing and later on planned for their escape and how are they going to save the palace, atleast. The king said that they can't use their previous route anymore for the witch possibly found out about them intruding the place. True enough, minutes after the king told them that, they hear the breaking noise outside going to their direction so the prince quickly hid them under the bed. While the witch was interrogating the two men, the three sisters were blaming Margarette for what happened to them until she got mad and shouted at her sisters which leads the witch to find out where they're hiding. The witch punished them by ruining the stair going back to the castle, including the book so that they will be trapped there forever adding them to her captives. The princesses continued blaming Margarette until she reached the point of blaming herself too. When she couldn't take it anymore, she secretly begged the witch to set her sisters free in exchange of agreeing that she will do whatever the witch would want her to do. The witch asked for her life in exchange for the freedom of her sisters. Margarette undoubtedly agreed to it. She then happily went to the room and hugged her sulking sisters, telling them how much she loved them and at the same time asking sorry for the danger she put them into. Everyone in the room was weirded out on what she did. Before anyone could react, the witch turned her into a statue in front of her sisters without giving them their freedom.

When the three learned about the witch deceiving their older sister, they got really mad that they immediately plotted on how they could ruin the witch just to have their sister back. Victoria was trying hard to remember some words from the book that could help them end the spell but she couldn't remember anything. Prince Nicholas said that the only thing would help them out is by killing the witch which is at the same time, very impossible for them to do because they don't have powers like she has. Liliana suggested the line that Alexandra did but since she was doing quite a lot of tones that time, she barely identifies which is the right one. They were left hopeless and felt very sorry for what they did to their sister. Alexandra spent her everyday trying to figure out the exact tone that she did that reveals the secret stairs, until one day she accidentally hit the note and the castle grounds shaked a little. The witch got furious that she started turning everything into a mad monster. The princesses, including the king and the prince hid under the couch while Alexandra was teaching them how to properly sing the line. She realized that her voice alone was weak and if they will combine their voices together, it will be powerful enough to destroy the witch. They started singing while slowly coming out of their hiding place and moving their way towards the witch's crooked wand.

The witch was slowly eaten by her spell until she completely vanished as well as the water that fills the lake. The castle rosed up slowly and stood up on its previous place again. It turns out that the witch was their mom's twin, the one that they looked up to as the epitome of elegance before. Margarette then went back to life and the princesses found out that their parents were one of the people behind the Queen's death. They just made up the whole story to make themselves appear innocent. The King made the princesses live in the palace and become part of the royal family. Their parents were both sent in the dungeon. Prince Nicholas married princess Margarette and they lived happily ever after.
