Early Mornings

Requested by Sandrastar1 ok,I tried.GET YOUR FANGIRL SCREAMS READY!Jk I dont think my stories are that good😂.Anyways,ENJOY!

It had been a few months since they made peace with the bergens.Poppy was queen,Branch found his true colors,they became best friends(Oh why couldn't they be more than that?!) and life was great!Excpet for Poppy.After she was crowned queen she had been doing A LOT of work.She had paper work,parties to host,events to plan and she was EXHAUSTED!She drank like 3 coffees per day!Maybe even 4 sometimes!So now she was in her pod making invitations and signing paper work.

"Ok,almost...YES!"She shouted in excitement.She finished another card for Copper's big donut party.(IDK what I'm doing)Poppy had eyebags,her eyes were practically half closed and her hair was all messy."Phew!Now only 3 more invit-"As Poppy reached for another piece of paper she knocked over her coffee mug on the invitation she just made."UGH FROSTING!"She yelled in frustration.She sighed and slammed her head against the table."I'll never get these finished by tonight!"She exclaimed.She looked at her hug time bracelet."4:45am,jeez.Its not even night anymore.Its morning."She got out of her desk chair and headed for bed."Actually,I could do a few more pieces of paperwork."She said smirking.She headed into her kitchen to get another cup of coffee.Her previous cup was knocked over and spilled all over her most recent invitation."Ok lets get to it!"

"Poppy?Poppy?Hey Popps?You in there?"Branch knocked on the door of her pod.Branch knocked once more and saw the door slightly open.He went inside looking for the pink troll he cared about the most in his whole life."Poppy?"He went into a room and saw Poppy on her desk asleep with a glitter pen in her hand."Oh Poppy."Branch said walking over to her."W-what?"Poppy weakly opened her eyes."Branch?What are you doing here this early?"She spoke."Early?Poppy its 1pm!Everyone's been looking for you!"Poppy shot up."1 PM?!?Oh no,oh no,oh no,OH NO!"She said panicking."I OVERSLEPT?!"She said suprised."Well yeah you did-"Branch began but was quickly cut off."BRANCH THIS IS SO BAD!I HAVE TO HAND OUT THE INVITATIONS IN 10 MINTUES!LOOK IM A MESS!"She yelled.
"you're still pretty to me."Branch grumbled under his breath.
"Sorry for yelling Branch."
"no prob Popps."
Branch placed the back of his hand onto Poppy's forehead."Poppy you can't go!You've got a fever!"He said panicking."Dont worry Branch!I'll be*yawns*fine."Branch looked in Poppy's pod for medicine."ugh.You don't have medicine here.But I do at my bunker!C'mon I'll carry you."Branch said.Poppy was blushing and her face expressed the word shock.Poppy nodded and Branch scooped her up in his arms.

They ran in a direction that didn't lead having them going through the village.They wouldnt want a Poppy 911 happening.

As Branch ran through the trees Poppy buried her face into his vest.Branch looke down and smiled."You're warm"she whispered quietly."What'd you say?"Branch asked.But Poppy dodn't answer she fell back asleep with her face still against Branch's vest.

"A-are we there yet?I'm c-cold."She spoke weakly.Branch spoke,"dont worry,we're almost there."Branch stopped and took off his vest.He put his vest around Poppy and started to run again.

About 2 minutes later they reached the bunker.Branch quickly went down the elevator and placed Poppy on the couch.She was shivering and wrapped herself in a tiny ball.Her hands up against her chest.

Meanwhile Branch was searching through cabinets and drawers trying to find medicine.He then stopped and placed a pillow under Poppy's head and a balnket over her.She stopped shivering but still really sick.Branch then found some medicine and put it in a cup."Thanks*coughs* Branch."She spoke to him in a weak voice."woah there Poppy.Stop talking,just rest,you'll be okay,I promise."he said holding her hands.He went back to the cabinets to get medicine.

About 2 minutes later,Branch walked over to Poppy with some medicine and a cup of water."Here drink this."He said.Poppy smelled it"Oh.It smells like berries."She said."Well,don't get your hopes up."Branch replied.Poppy drank the medicine then took a drink of water."Ugh!Not berries."She said."Taste like,idk,berries dipped into some sort disgisting liquid."Poppy then laid down and fell asleep.

Branch headed towards the elevator and as he got on he looked over to Poppy who was sleeping peacefully."Goodnight Popps.Now,time to see why you got sick."Branch pulled the elevator lever and went up.Once he reached the top he headed for Poppy's pod.

Once he got inside her pod he looked around."Now,why do you look so bedraggled?"He entered a room with a desk,a stack of finished invitations and a coffee mug.He then realized why Poppy was so tired."Oh Poppy,don't do this.You should get some sleep."He said as he picked up the stack of invitations.He took one look at it and got an idea.

~4 hours later~

Poppy woke up and saw she was in Branch's bunker.She sat up and rubbed her eyes.She looked around trying to find Branch."Branch?Braaaanch?Branch!"She yelled as she twisted her head."Branch,where are you?!"She panicked."Did he leave me?"Poppy said.She got up and walked off the couch."B-Branch?"She spoke shivering.To Poppy it was really cold and the blanket that Branch had given her wasn't as warm as she thought.Poppy walked towards the elevator shaft."Maybe I'll be able to find him."As she slowly walked towards the elevator she fell down.She whispered something as she still tried to reach the elevator even though she was on the ground."Branch."

~20 minutes later~

As Branch got back and into the bunker he sighed a sigh of relief."Wow,Poppy has a lot pf work!How does she make it look so easy?Damg,who knew parties could be so,so,uh,optimistic!"As Branch reached the bottom he saw Poppy on the ground."Poppy!"He yelled.He sprinted over to Poppy.He placed her head on his lap and placed a hand on her forehead."She's still sick."Branch sighed.He picked Poppy up in his arms and brought her over to the couch.Poppy woke up as she slumped back onto the couch."Branch?"She asked half asleep."Poppy why did you do that?!You could have hurt yourself!Don't do that ever again!"He replied hugging her.He was upset that Poppy got off the couch when she should have been resting.Poppy had small little tears rolling down her cheeks as they broke the hug."I-I'm sorry Branch.I should have listened to you and just stayed in bed."She said as small little tears rolled down her cheeks.Branch looked at her as she cried.His heart shattered into thousands of pieces.I don't want to watch her cry.He thought."Hey Poppy,please don't cry.I'm sorry for raising my voice at you.Poppy sniffled and laid her head on Branch's left shoulder.

"Poppy,don't pressure yourself.You can't stay up too late.You'll just get sick again."Branch said stroking her head."But,I need to be a good queen."She replied."You already are."Branch replied.Poppy looked up at Branch."Oh no!The invitations!"Branch chuckled."Don't worry,they're taken care of.And the paperwork."Poppy whispered something to Branch."You are the best friend I ever have had."Poppy then fell asleep on Branch's chest. Branch kissed her on the forehead."Goodnight Popps."Then they fell asleep

But Poppy was awake the whole time.Then her eyes widened.
"Crap,now we're both gonna be sick."

Damn.I finished that in one day.ONE DAY!The last one took me several days.But DANG.Anyways I hoped you liked it.To be honest though this is probably one of the worst oneshots I have ever made but ok.

I keep making my oneshots emotional.So thats why I made Poppy say that at the end.I really need to make my onsehots funnier.Anyways,as always see you guys later!Bai!
