Harry and Severus walked down the dining hall in a comfortable silence and sat down at the long table. Severus, instead of sitting at the head of the table as is traditional for the man of the house, sat towards the middle. Not wanting to be rude, Harry sat across from him.
Within seconds a small feast appeared on the table in front of them.
"I guess they wanted to impress you, huh Harry?" Snape chuckled at the actions of his elves. Harry chuckled a bit too. "Well then, tuck it," Snape said and Harry gladly complied, serving himself a large spoonful of mashed potatoes along with a slice of ham and a spoonful of green beans.
After their meal Harry felt quite tired so Snape instructed him to go to bed. "And Harry, if you need anything at all then don't hesitate to call for Saryian. He'll come to get me." Harry nodded before following said elf to his suite.
Saryian drew him a nice hot bath with a generous amount of bubbles and helped him bathe before teleporting a pair of pajamas(since he couldn't touch them) onto the counter in front of the vanity. He tucked Harry into bed and turned out the lights. Just before he left the room he turned back. "Goodnight young master. Sleep well," was all he said before he shut the great oak doors for the night.
The problem was, he didn't have a good night, nor did he sleep very well.

He was watching a disturbing scene unfold.
There were flashed coming from two wands locked in a duel. There was a man with black hair and brown eyes. The man looked quite a bit like Harry. The two people exchanged blows and the magical power grew with every spell cast.
"Give up James," Then it clicked. The man was his father. "Give up. You'll never beat me. Just let me kill the child and you and your wife can live!" Although he tried desperately, Harry couldn't see who spoke.
"You and I both know that I can't do that!" His father yelled as he set off a red spell. Then there was a bright green light. His father fell to the floor, his body lifeless. The power that had built up in the room suddenly disappeared.
Then he found himself in a nursery where he saw who he assumed was his mother standing protectively over a crib with a baby in it. The baby had black hair just like James did. When he opened his eyes their dark green almost shined in the moonlight.
Lily yelled for the man to stop as she held her wand at the ready. Behind her back she cast a spell over the baby. Moments later she dropped to the floor, dead as her husband.
The man stood over Lily and threw the same curse over the child as he did to both of his parents.
The next thing he saw was Severus crying over his mother's body before lifting him out of his crib. He now had a jagged gash across his forehead that leaked a little blood. When he opened his eyes again they were the same color as the curse that killed his parents.

Harry sat bolt upright in his bed. His scar ached and hot tears ran down his face. "SARYIAN!" His body trembled and the elf popped into the room.
"What is it you- I'll get Master Severus," he said calmly.
Moments later Severud burst through the doors to Harry's quarters in his dressing robed looking frantic and worried. His worry only grew when he saw the state the boy was in. He rushed over to the bed and sat down, pulling Harry into a tight hug. "Shh, shh," he whispered as he stroked the boy's back. Harry clung to the man.
"I s-saw them," he sobbed. "I s-saw t-them die!" He cried even harder as he buried his face in Severus's chest. The wizard let the boy cry for as long as he needed. After about twenty minutes he had calmed down, his violent shaking turning into small trembles, sobbing into sniffles. "I-I saw you t-there too... Why were you so sad?"
Severus sighed. "I loved your mother dearly Harry. When you were born I was named one of your godfathers, the others being Sirius Black and Remus Lupin. It broke me to see your mother d... how she was. It broke me even more to see that you didn't have her eyes anymore," he explained with a heavy heart.
Harry nodded. His bright green eyes seemed to have lost their shimmer even as the moonlight hit them.
"Severus, will you stay with me until I fall back asleep?" Harry asked timidly.
"Of course," Severus said as he pulled the blankets up over Harry's shoulders. He still had tears streaming down his cheeks as he laid his head on the soft pillow. Harry let the warmth of the blankets wash over him and soon enough he felt his eyes grow heavy.
In a matter of minutes he had fallen back asleep, this time there were no dreams, only blissful blackness.
Despite his promise to the now sleeping boy, Severus didn't stay until he fell back asleep. In fact, as soon as he was sure the boy was asleep he stood up and walked over to the velvet sofa and laid down himself. After asking Saryian to bring him a pillow and a blanket he too fell asleep. He didn't want to leave Harry in case he woke up hysterical again. He knew how difficult that could be and he didn't want his godson to go through that alone.
There were only two hours left until the sun rose, but neither of them knew that. All they knew was that they were tired as they sunk into deeper and deeper sleeps.
Saryian smiled at how peaceful his masters looked as he shut the black oak doors for the second time that night. The following morning was sure to be interesting.
