Guddi took the toast and gave it a bite. Sidharth said to Nakul _' Iski mummy ne bohut achchi tameez sikhayi hai. Wo teacher bhi hai. Bohut achcha Kam kiya tumne. Mehnat se tumne bhi apni beti ko achche se pala hai. ' He was admiring from the bottom of his heart.
Nakul stays silent. He was hesitating to tell something but ultimately he couldn't utter a word. He just smiled thankfully.
Sidharth left his Bungalow and headed to the construction site . He drives his own car. Before leaving he bade goodbye to Guddi who was standing near the portico with Bholu in her arms.
Driving car is his relaxation. He learned driving from Shehnaaz. Outside his school and college on later, his world used to turn around her. He was her science tuitor and she was his only place to open his heart. Shehnaaz always said , Sidharth was her best friend .
That day he was teaching her differential calculus when his mom suddenly came in his room. Seeing Shehnaaz there she said _' Sidharth exam tumhara hai next month, tum apni parhai pe dhyan do.' He was a final year engineering student at that time in IIT Delhi. All the students were on study leave and he returned his home a few days ago . He replied _' Mummy Sirf ek chapter , abhi khatam ho jayega , please. '
She didn't say anything more and closed the door. Shehnaaz was sad and embarrassed. She said _' Main baad me sikh lungi, papa home tuitor appoint karnewale hain. ' she was about to go but Sidharth stopped her by holding her hand tightly. He said _' Sit here. You don't need anyone else as long as I'm with you. Samjhi moti? '
He never left a chance to show that he had the biggest right on her.
_' You are with me? Are you sure? ' she said smiling. but Sidharth could notice her sad eyes. He replied _' Yes. I'll be with you all my life.'
Shehnaaz was looking into his eyes. Her eyes were moist. He knew she was sad because he was supposed to leave India within a few days. He tenderly touched her face and said _'Whenever I remember that after a few months I'll have to leave India, I'll have to leave you......' he stopped because his voice choked .
Shehnaaz said _' OK baba, ro mat. I can't see you sad and you can never leave me because we are best friends.'
_' Sirf best friends? Or kuch bhi nehi? Don't you know anything about my feelings for you? ' he couldn't control his emotions.
_' Dost nehi to kya Sidharth? ' she tried to avoid showing her emotional side to him. Because she knew so well, his mother could never accept her as Sidharth's life partner . She was afraid of losing him . Sidharth could understand all her unsaid feelings and he assured her that one day they'll be together forever.
Sidharth can remember Shehnaaz once lashed out at him in frustration _' Don't you know your own mother ? She's bringing you up so that you can marry a rich daddy's princess . And my dad is not rich. Mujhe barbar jhoota assurance mat dena, hum kabhi ek nehi ho payenge !'
Sidharth wishes, he could hold her hand strongly but he could do nothing except staying silent.
After that whenever he tried to explain his true feelings she tried to avoid that and called him, her best friend.

After Sidharth left in his car Guddi returned to the garden. Her puppy was crying feebly . She went to the kitchen and asked Lakshmi to give her some biscuits for her Bholu. But there was nobody to feed her and her puppy as well. So the two starved all the day and played in the garden. In the afternoon Nakul took her home .
When Sidharth returned he couldn't find her in his Bungalow.
He called out _' Guddi, tum kahaan ho ?' Nakul was taking off his shoes. He said _' Babu Ji, usko main ghar chhor aya hun. Rani bitiya ki jaldi chhutti ho geyi thi isliye. '
_' Achcha thik hai. Ek baat batao, usko school main dakhil kiyun nehi karwaya abhi tak? '
_' Babu Ji, school main parhne ke liye peyse lagte hain. Meri Rani bitiya bohut mehnat kar rhi hai. Ramji ki kripa ho to Guddi agle saal school zaroor jayegi. '
_' Ek kaam karo, Guddi ki ma se puncho agar unko Koi problem nehi hai to Guddi ki school ki fees main bharna chahta hun. '
Nakul said _' main keyse apka shukriya ada karun Babuji, lekin uski ma ye peyse nehi legi, yebhi mujhe pata hai. Wo bahut abhimani hain. '
_' Oh. I see. ' Sidharth was really surprised. He couldn't help admiring her self respect and dignity.

After having dinner, he called his mother. She said _' Beta, Mishra Ji yaad hai tujhe?'
_' Kaun Mishra Ji? Mujhe yaad nehi aa rha. '
_' Teri chhoti behen ki sasural waley. Unki beti Shivani mujhe bohut achchi lagi. Tujhe bhi pasand ayegi, itni sushil our Sanskari ladki hain wo. ' She had an unsaid command in her voice.
_' OK mummy. But mujhe mat bulao, tumhe jo thik lage karo.' he said indifferently. These things don't matter to him anymore. He can marry any girl. He has no choice. He is not even concerned about his marriage.
His mother hates that the most. Why is her son so indifferent about her demands and orders . She said _' Thik hai, main baat karti hun. Next month Shivani ka birthday hai. Mr Mishra khood Birthday party main tujhe invite karne ke liye call kiya mujhe . Pohch jana.'
He kept the phone on the table after she cuts off the call.
He laid down on bed and murmured _' Shehnaaz mera wait kiyun nehi kiya? Shaadi kiyun kar li? Mujhpe itna bhi bharosa nehi tha? Aur mere liye ekbar bhi nehi socha . Not for once, that how would I live. How much I'd suffer. Mera dil todke bahut khushi mili na tumhe? Ab mujhe aur fark nehi parta. I can marry any girl. Mujhe wayse bhi kisise pyaar nehi ho sakta. '
