Chapter 4: The Project Assignment

Carter's POV

"Since the break is coming up, I have decided that you all are going to be doing a project that is important in life. Your assignment is called 'The Married Life.' You will be split into pairs and will be spending quite some time together over the break. Therefore, you must all get along," Mrs. Moore explained. "The objective is to research and compare famous marriages and couples."

"This assignment will teach you what it means to be in a relationship, and you will learn what all relationships are based on. At the end, you will create a presentation with a list of five things that make up a bad relationship, along with five things that make up a good relationship. You will be allowed to choose your partner, so choose wisely."

Of course. Of all stupid projects to do over break, she had to assign this one.

"Ladies, once you have chosen your partner, you will go find him and get to know one another. I expect you all to be on your best behavior." Mrs. Moore added. Suddenly, a brunette with a 5'3 frame walked up to me. I know her from somewhere...

"Hi," Blair said. "You're my partner."

"Can't wait." I said with a smirk. She blushed.

"What are you doing over break?" She asked.

"You," I said. She blushed even harder, I chuckled. "I don't have plans."

"Very funny. Well then, I will be heading to New York for the break. I guess that mean's you'll be coming too?" She said.

"I guess so," I said. New York? Crazy plans for the break but I'll manage I guess.

"Okay. Well the period's about to end so I should probably go." She said. "Oh, and just so we're clear, we're not sharing a room." She said as she walked out.

Well okay then, I guess I should probably start packing...

Serena's POV

Well then, I guess my partner's Dom... Interesting. "Hey Dom," I said with a smile. "We're married now, I think." He chuckled.

"Yep, I guess so," He said. "Would you, I don't know, wanna get coffee or something after school?" He started scratching the back of his neck nervously. Aww.

"Sure. I have math now but I'll meet you at my locker after school. Locker B305."

"Cool," He said with a head nod. "Well, see you later then."

I chuckled. "Yep." I said with a smile. I walked out of the room and met up with Blair in the hall. She has science, which is in the room next-door to my next period so we walk together usually. "Who's your 'husband,' B?"

"You'll never believe it," she exclaimed. "I got Carter Black."

Woe. "Wow, that's nice. I got Dom." I said. "How's that been going for ya?"

"He's... interesting. He's a jerk but an attractive one." Blair said with a wink.

"Eww, okay TMI please. I'll talk to you later I have to go pack for our getaway tomorrow!!" I said with a laugh.

"Don't forget the limo's picking us up for the airport at 7am tomorrow. It's going to be a long 11 hours from Calabasas to New York." Blair said before walking away.

I headed home after a long day of classes to go pack. After all, this will definitely be a long break.
