I turned back to confirm if he was the one, and there he was standing  so confident in that amarni suit. How can a man be so handsome but still childish and irritating at the same time, It just doesn't fit.

"Em I- I It's n-not-wh - what you think". I said trying to sound confident but failed miserably.

"What's not what I think miss Davies. That you called me stupid or that you said it in my own building".

Oh now it's his own building. Cant this man get a life and leave mine.

"Miss Davies I'm talking to you". His tone became serious.

I could feel all eyes on us. It felt like everyone stopped paying attention to their work and focused on the scene before them.

Before I could speak, he commanded "in my office now!".

He started walking away. Mandy stepped on my shoes to remind me to follow him.

I was kind of in tears. But I have to be strong like dad always said.

I was now in his office, he sat down and looked at the view before him, a scared little girl who was in pieces but still held her head up high.

"So you think you can go around my building gossiping about me uh". He broke the silence.

"No it's not that it's just..."

"Just what miss Davies, the only reason you are still in this office is because I am not the one who hired you and because I'm bent on making your life miserable in this office".

My life miserable, what did I do to him that he wants to make my life miserable. I tried to talk but words didn't come out.

“Miss Davies you know you are very unqualified for this job, the only reason…”
“I’m still here is because you didn’t hire me. You know what I don’t want this damn job, I don’t want to work for you and you can have your stupid job back I quit”. I rudely cut in.

I stormed out of the office not hearing another word he had to say.

I was now in the elevator and my thoughts began fighting itself.

You idiot, why will you quit your ‘dream job’ on your first day.
But he was being rude, I couldn’t take it anymore.

Can’t you take a little insult.

You call that little.

Of course it is little.

But I can’t go back now I’ll look cheap.

Forget it I’ll go home and write a resignation letter, besides this is Manchester there are lots of ways to make money and other writing jobs.

You are quite right.
And thank goodness Tara got an apartment for us. If not we will be stuck on the streets in an unknown city.

I walked out of the elevator. I could hear people murmuring and even a blonde lady stared me down and said ‘she is looking so cheap, I bet she gets fired at every job she gets’.

I walked further to my desk and met Mandy there. Apparently she waited for me.

“What happened in there” She asked.

“Well I just quit my job and apparently I’m not good enough”. I said while trying to pack my stuff off the table.

“I don’t understand. You are not good enough”. She asked, being confused.

I told her everything. Then she offered to come home then we exchanged our numbers.

“ok ill text you the address, you can come anytime but make sure you text first.

“kk talk to ya later byeee”

“bye”.

I can proudly say I lost a job but found a new friend.
