I point the gun at the door and ask Ani to hide in the room where the beds are and lock it. She starts to get worried a bit more and asks, "Scar... Is e-everything OK?"
I don't respond and check the window again and quickly sit back down. He's getting closer to the window. "Don't. Move. Stay close to the window" I say while I lean against the wall where the window was keeping my head down. Ani does the same too.
He looks through the window that was above our heads. He couldn't see us, that's for sure. But he could see the food bag. He walks toward the door and shoots the handle open.
My heart beats a mile per second. I point the gun at where his head might be when he enters the infirmary. "I-it's OK. I g-got it," I say softly to Ani to calm her down.
He opens the door. I ready my finger on the trigger. The room is dark. The only light was from outside. He and his team must've turned on the school light outside. Me and Ani sat in the shadows.
He enters but doesn't notice me and Ani so he walks towards the bag of food. I shoot. Thankfully he went away from the door otherwise his corpse would've been seen by his teammates.
Ani covers her mouth trying not to scream. I quickly search the guys pouch. Another pistol and canned foods. But his gun didn't have a surpressor. I take it anyway. I crawl back to Ani who was still a little shocked. Can't blame her,i was shocked too. I give her a hug. "It's fine Ani. He's dead. We're both fine," I say caomingly crying a little.
I let go after a while. The guys might still be out there and the door is open. I check outside to see if the other guys were there. No one. I enter and close the door. The door won't properly close now since there the knob was shot. "Ani, can you help me push the shelves to block the door?" I ask.
She stands up and we both struggle to push one of the shelves that had the files of each student. "I guess that should be enough," I say looking at Ani while giving a smile. She still looked a little shocked.
**Buzz buzz**
I turn my gaze to the source of the sound. It was comming from the corpse. I search his pocket and find a phone in it. It appears his teammate called. I turn on his phone, ignoring the call that was constantly comming in. Samsung galaxy note 5. He didn't have much battery 2%. Since my phone was also the same as his, I knew his battery would die if I called anyone. It would just cut the call.
1% battery remaining. His phone had a password. "Can the phone call out?" Ani asks with a little hope.
I click the emergency icon at the corner of the screen. Before I could dial in the numbers the screen turns black. Great. I shake my head to answer Ani's question. A memory of when me and Ani went to canteen played in my head. The guy that I shot had a phone. I was so stupid. I could've took the phone. But we can't go out now. The group might still be there. "Let's go sleep. We'll see what we can do tomorrow," I mutter and head to the room, grab a blanket from the cabinet and curl up beside the remaining bed.
Ani enters the room after a minute after me. "You sure you want to sleep on the floor?" she asks, concerned.
"Yea. It's even more cold down here," I reply and turn to sleep.
