~Jessie's P.O.V.~

I ran towards him with an ice blade in my hands.  Vines grew out of the ground, blocking me from him, but I slashed them away.  I swung at him with full force, but he stopped it with his finger.  "What?" I said in shock.  The sword shattered into ice shards, and vines started  to wrap around my limbs again, but this time, it pulled each of them.  I tried to scream, but no sound came out.  Every part of my body was screaming in pain.

"JESSIE!" I heard Sting yell in distress, but I didn't look at him.  Instead I looked at the old man, who was inching his way towards me.

"You know, you're the first person to withstand their most excruciating pain ever inflicted on them," he said when he approached me.  "How do you do it?"  Despite every the pain I felt, well, everywhere, I managed a smirk.

"There's two...weaknesses..to your memory magic..." I managed to say before coughing up blood.

"Oh?  And what is that?" he asked in curiosity.

"First, you inflict... the most painful physical pain...but not...emotional pain.." I answered.  "Second..this pain...is illusionary...it's not real."

"Ah, bravo bravo, you figured it out," he applauded.  "I expect nothing less from a multi-magic mage."  His face turned dark.  "Even though that is true, however, that will not save you."  The vines started pulling me harder, making me feel like I'm going to split in half.

"Ah, but..you're wrong.." I panted.  "I've felt...worst pain..than this...emotionally..."  I closed my eyes, and concentrated on the water inside the vines.  Please tell me you have water inside...  Thankfully, I heard the drip-dropping of water inside the vines.  I gathered as much magic power as I could muster.  I could feel the vines getting smaller and smaller.  When I opened them, I saw water droplets floating in mid-air.  I took a deep breath in, consuming all the water.  "Water Dragon's ROAR!"  I roared as hard as I could, breaking the shriveled up vines in the process.  The old man tried to block the impact with vines, but it broke through and hit the man directly, and he was slammed against a tree.  I felt the pain fade away, but not all of it.  I walked towards him and looked down.

"Why did I have to fight you?" I asked softly.  I saw tears in the old man's eyes.

"I'm sorry...I'm so sorry.." he whispered.  "My creator..forced me to...and now I have put you and your young man in danger.."

"Danger, what do you mean?" I asked.

"A girl, once a lover, is bound to live alone in eternity, so she latches herself on to new hearts, and kill its bond, all to be reunited by her one true love,"  the man muttered.

"What does that mean?" I asked anxiously.

"It's..a warning..." he whispered.  Suddenly, he disappeared, leaving black dust.  He wasn't real?  I thought, but I shook my head.  No, he had feelings, and a heart.  He was just created to do bad things.

"Rest in peace old man.." I whispered quietly.  All of a sudden, I pain shot through my legs, and I collapsed.  I thought the illusionary pain disappeared?  I mentally facepalm myself. No, this is real pain.  You went too far again.  I sighed.   Atleast Sting's safe now...
