~Jessie's P.O.V.~
"Are you sure about this?" my magenta colored flying feline friend glanced at me with uncertainty. We were standing in front of the guild that had won this year's Grand Magic Games. The guild that had once been number one, and now still is. I gulped and brushed my bangs away from my right eye. Whenever I'm nervous, I try to push it away. It's quite useless though, because the way my hair is styled just makes my bangs cover my right eye once again. Perhaps I need to force myself away from pointless habits.
"Yes, I'm sure Lexi. It's been 8 years and after watching the Grand Magic Games.....I have to," I answered. I smiled at the nostalgic memories that starting flowing into my mind. "I want to see my friends again."
"Well, I'm certainly not complaining," Lexi shrugged in response. "Here goes nothing....." We both gave each other a reluctant glance before walking through its ginormous doors. We heard a huge creak before the door opened to reveal a huge lobby. People were drinking what intensely smelled like alcohol, and I saw a certain pink haired boy do something he's about to regret. My smile returns twice as big as I watch a familiar scene, another nostalgic feeling washing over me.
"Hey Erza, I challenge you to a duel!" The pinkette's hand slammed hard on the bar table, and a scarlet-haired girl's cake fell to the ground due to the aftershock of the force. She stood up, obviously angry.
"You....spilled....my...CAKE!!!!" She yelled at the boy. He obviously immediately regretted his actions as she held onto his dragon scaled scarf looking into his fear-filled eyes. "YOU DIE TODAY NATSU!!" At this time, a strong muscular man jumped onto the bar.
"YEAH!!! A MAN KNOWS WHEN TO FIGHT!" he yelled. "FREE FOR ALL!!" Everyone started to pick a fight on each other, and soon the lobby was trashed. I couldn't help but giggle. So nothing's changed, huh... I smiled. But, what did I expect? They're Fairy Tail, after all.
"Good to see nothing's change," Lexi beamed beside me. I smiled and nodded before I quietly "ahemed," making everything suddenly come to a stop. Everyone stared at me wide-eyed, and they stood where they were, not daring to move a muscle. The entire scene in front of me looked as if someone had paused the fight, which I guess is probably the case, if we're getting into technicalities.
"Um, is this Fairy Tail?" I asked innocently. Still no one dared to move a muscle, and I found a couple of stragglers shaking, as their posture was not one that could be held with ease. I burst out laughing. "I'm kidding you idiots!" I laughed. Still, no movement. After a couple seconds, I suddenly started to worry. Did they forget about me? It has been 8 years...
Just then, a short and half-bald man slowly came walking towards me. "Yes, this is Fairy Tail," he answered. "And who may you two be?" I felt my heart drop all the way down to my stomach at his question. They really did forget about me.. I could feel my eyes start to feel hot with tears of betrayal just as the master burst out laughing. "I'm just kidding you brat!" he said while he was laughing. "Welcome home!"
"WELCOME HOME JESSIE!!!!!" everyone in the guild yelled in unison. I wanted to be angry at them; I wanted to kick the old man right then and there and then scream at the rest of them that that was such a cruel and terrible joke, but I felt so relieved that I couldn't help but start to cry, and I could see Lexi crying as well out of the corner of my eye.
"I'm home!" I said as tears of joy streamed down my face.
~Sting's P.O.V.~
"Hey Sting, where do you want me to put this picture?" my Shadow Dragon Slayer partner, Rogue, asked me. I was looking down at an old picture that was firmly gripped in my hands. The picture depicted everyone in the Sabertooth guild 7 years ago, especially a certain girl. "Hey Sting, you alright?" I jumped to see Rogue right in front of me with an unamused expression.
"I'm fine, m'just looking back on the good ol' days..." I muttered. Rogue immediately understood and sighed.
"It's that time of year again, isn't it?" His face fell (more than usual). I sadly nodded.
"I really miss her...." I murmured. I rested my elbow on the armrest of my chair and put my hand over my eyes. "If only I hadn't..." I trailed off, but once again, Rogue understood. He was there, after all.
"Hey, I know you miss her....we all do," he tried to comfort me, "but who knows? She might come back."
"Oh yes, because it's been 8 years and she so desperately wants to come back to the place that shunned her," I spat bitterly. I let out a noise of surprise when Rogue slapped the back of my head out of nowhere.
"Sarcasm won't help," he glared at me.
"...Tch." I rubbed the spot on my head where he had hit me and scoffed at him. "I know, but...I really want to know if she's safe..if she forgives me.." I whispered that last part to myself while avoiding my partner's gaze.
"What?" Rogue cocked an eyebrow at me.
"Nothing," I replied, wiping my eyes dry. "I think that that picture of all of us at the Fiore Castle should go near the entrance of the guild, so that everyone who enters can see it." I smile, forgetting my guilt. "So that everyone can see that we're no longer who we used to be."
"Hai hai, Master," Rogue rolled his eyes and picked up the frame. A tick mark formed on the side of my head at the sound of him calling me 'Master.'
"Oi, I told you not to call me that!"
