A lot can happen in a lifetime

Cassidy takes a sharp breath in, her future is behind those heavy, dawning auditorium doors.

This is her one chance, to get away from the mess of her life back in South Africa.

Placing her trembling, tiny fingers on the door.

Pushing forward as she takes her leap of faith

Standing in a room filled with musical talent, daring to seep out of the auditorium doors.

The air thick with tension with each auditioner concentrating on their sheets of paper trying to memorize each note.

What makes her different from anyone else auditioning?

Cassidy steadying her fingers as she practices her own piece of music, sitting in one of the million rows of seats. Her idol sitting a few meters away from her, part of the critiques. The group of 3 most important people to her right now.

''Cassidy Kingsly''

Her heartbeat speeding up, millions of thoughts invading her mind.

Cassidy carefully makes her way up to the stage, her harp sitting in the centre of the stage.

"Fight for what you believe in!"

Her mother's words echoed in her head.

Standing next to her huge harp almost doubling her in size. Cassidy drew a deep breath in as if she was going to drown.

"Whenever you're ready Miss Kingsly" the dean spoke with a softness in his tone. He could tell the nervousness he saw in Cassidy.

Cassidy started a piece with one single note that silenced the distant murmurs and whispers.

Her finger grazing the tight strings of wired bellowing a symphony of beautiful notes. Her eyes shut tightly playing each note with ease. Completely letting her fingers and mind guiding her, concentrating on her future, a new beginning and new life.

Her mind wandered back to the memories that brought her to this exact moment. The pain she felt, the heartbreak she went through, the happiness flowed within her, the excitement wanting to burst out and finally the love that made her into the person she is.

The next part of her piece was different, something new that she wrote herself, extremely unique from other harp pieces. The tempo began to pick up, Cassidy moving her fingers as fast as she can. Cutting the air as if she is trying to catch the butterfly that flown away from her as a child.

Her heartbeat in the tempo of her music that echoed in the auditorium, she felt all the pairs of eyes staring through her.

'One last verse' Cassidy thought to herself.

Completely focused on one person only

She did it, the fingers slowed down her breath's quick and short. Finally, the last note shot out hitting everyone.

Cassidy opened her eyes to find;

Everyone shocked

The critiques with wide eyes
