Chapter 5

I can feel tears streaming down my face. Colby probably hates me now, he's disgusted by me. I look at Colby's face scared and see that he is crying. "How-...how could he do this to you?" Colby stutters out. I look back at my body. My father carved words into my skin. He wrote fat, whore, fag, worthless, and mistake. I had bruises that covered my torso. "I-if you want me to leave I understand..." I said in a quiet voice. His head shot up and it scared me, "Why would I want you to leave?" He looked confused. "I don't know...when people find out that I'm weird, they just leave" Colby looked at me and carefully pulled me into a hug. I was stunned, but I hugged back. I was sobbing at this point and I could feel Colby's tears run down my back. "Sam, I'm not gonna leave you, no matter what" He hugs me again and I just sit there. 'No matter what' I thought I would never have this. Is this what it's like to be loved?
    He let go and I put my shirt and sweater back on, we sat in awkward silence for a minute then Elton yelled something. "Shall we see whats up?" He asked. "Yeah, don't want to worry them" we headed down stairs to see everyone gathered by the door. "What's going on?" Colby asked. "We're gonna shoot a video today, wanna join?" A video? "Sure, where we headed?" Elton and Colby started talking about details and I went to Aaron and Corey to ask what was happening. "Hey guys"I said "Hey Sammy boy, what's up?" Corey says. "I'm confused, why you guys shooting a video?" "Oh, we never told you, Elton has a YouTube channel. He drags us along to haunted places and we do exploration videos", "oh, that's cool. Mind if I tag along?" They looked at Elton then back at me. "As long as you can handle Elton being creepy, then yeah!" I smiled and notice the other 2 had stopped talking. "Is Sam gonna come?" They asked "Yup!" Corey said with a goofy smile. " Then let's hit the road, we have to pick up Brennen on the way" they agreed and we went to the car. We stopped at someones house, who I guessed was Brennan. A tall, tan hunk came out and jumped in the car. His hair had blond tips and his eyes were beautiful, but he wasn't my type. Everyone was talking and I was just listening, then I say Brennan look back at me. "So, who's the cutey in the back?" I blushed when he called me cute. "Uhh..that's Sam, try not to hit on him please" said Elton. "How can I not, he's adorable" I was getting uncomfortable and Aaron noticed, so he changed the subject and the attention left me. I have him a silent thank you. And he just nodded.
    Finally we arrived and Elton pulled out a camera and did an intro, he even introduced me. I just smiled and waved. We started walking to the building and it was definitely run down. We started exploring and Colby walked with me into one room by ourselves. "Hey, how you doing from the car ride?" He asked with a worried tone. "Yeah, I'm ok, just not used to that" "Sam, are you...uh, how do I ask this..." "Gay...yes I am" He blushed a little. "What about you?" I asked, "I'm bi, I just got out of a nasty relationship" "Sorry to hear" all of a sudden Brennan jumped out of know where and put his arms on our shoulders. "Come on, we're going to a party!" I looked at him confused. "What are you talking about?" Colby asked. "A buddy of mine is throwing. A huge party in his 2 story house, so, let's get plastered!" He yelled and walked towards the exit. "Are you ok with going to a party?" I thought about it " yeah, I'll be ok, if it's gets to be too much I'll just wait outside." He gave me a smile and we headed to the car.
