Kiro's promise of posing for the cameras went longer than expected as guests of the premiere began to recognize Kiro. Every second was suffocating him because no matter how much he wanted to be with Constance at the moment, a group of people would swarm to be at his side.
However, he was lucky enough to find Constance alone on her phone watching as the main cast did some interviews. Their eyes meet, causing her to say a quick goodbye to whoever was calling her and turned to face Kiro.
"H-hey..." Kiro started the conversation "I'm sorry, I know I promised to be quick--"
"No need to apologize! You're a star after all!" Constance tried to hide her sadness as she let out the last few words. Looking at her phone to check the time she glanced up at Kiro.
"I think we should head in and get some nice seats" her lips twitch into a smile before walking away and gesturing for Kiro to come along. He swiftly follows, holding her wrist and leading her into the cinema.
"Wait, slow down! I'm getting tired in these heels!"
They came out of the cinema amazed by the film, she couldn't seem to stop talking after the credits ended. The both of them spent a significant time relentlessly talking about theories and small easter eggs and references that they found throughout the movie as they made their way to the after party, where they reunited with Mindy.
"Kiro! Come sit with us! We have a seat for you and your friend!"
Kiro turns to Constance, about to ask her if she was comfortable with sitting with Mindy's friends. She nodded feeling comforted by his concerned eyes. As they sat, she couldn't help but feel like she was the odd one out of the group, not being able to say anything as she listened to Kiro and the company on the table who were just getting along with each other. There was an outburst of laughter, but she just couldn't relate to their lives enough to converse with anyone else.
It does not dawn her that Kiro was providing her openings to join in on the conversation, she felt distant and contemplated on how she ever thought of fancying someone who could always afford to have better people surrounding him.
Feeling nearly drained by the inability to speak to anyone on the table, she went on to mingle with others, pushing herself away from Kiro so that she may push down the possible thought of who she was in his life. "I'm gonna go see if I can convince any other guests to join CWright's projects." She smiled, not wanting to worry Kiro who thought about protesting and asking her to stay. But, after all, she was here on business.
"I'll catch you later?" Constance nodded before moving to acquaint some people in the vast crowd.
Kiro spent a significant amount of time trying to pry himself away from anyone else Mindy knew. He would steal glances at Constance to see if she was doing alright, sometimes he would look her way whenever he heard her heavenly laughter and her cute business voice. But sometimes he would catch her pulling away and for a second he would see her vulnerable side, and each time he would, he prayed that someone could give him a way out of the social sea he was trapped in just to be by her side.
Opportunity struck when the group agreed to go on a restroom break to relieve and freshen themselves up. He moved quickly to search for Constance in the crowd, finding her alone by the bar, fumbling with the glass of champagne in her hand. He smiled, relieved that he found his way to her.
Kiro cleared his throat as he leaned on the table behind her "Aren't you a little too young to be drinking champagne milady?"
She scoffed before replying "We're the same age, dummy!"
Kiro rolled his eyes resting his head on his hand.
"Did you find new recruits?"
"I'm surprised to have even been able to persuade them." She laughs a little before continuing on "I lost count of how many cards I gave out, although I did get some to say 'yes on the spot, I hope that the others who are undecided would consider calling the office."
