CHAPTER 9

          "Ma'am! Ma'am!" The nurse was calling out to me as I woke up. "Where are am I?", I asked, "You're at Mercy Gilbert Hospital." she answered. "What happened?" I asked, "You were found unconscious in your house." once she said that, I remembered what happened. Alex! I thought, "Where are my kids?" I asked. "Both of them are resting now." 
"Both of them?" I asked
"Yes ma'am"
"Was there a third?" I asked,
"Let me think." After a minute of silence, she said, "Yes! A blind man took a kid here. Was his name Alex?" "Oh! Thank god. Can I meet the others?" I asked, "Sure!" She replied. I went to their rooms and burst open the door. "Mom! You're alive." Joey screamed, "Joey shut up!" Katherine flashed "Wait, you thought I died?" I asked. "You didn't wake up for 2 months!" Joey said. "What's the date today?" I asked. "May 31st, 2020" Katherine said sadly. "Mommy? Daddy put me to sleep and go home. Then big uncle came and put me here." said Alex.

Now I think it's better for me to go to the police station and complain. So, I grabbed Alex and took Joey by his hand and told Katherine to follow. Halfway it started to rain heavily, so we made a run for it. Goosebumps ran down my spine. So many thoughts were running around inside my head. I entered and went to the first officer that I saw and sat in front of his desk. He was wearing a black raincoat and he was facing down. "Yes ma'am?" he asked, in a familiar voice. "Oh, um, I am here to file a complaint," I said, without realizing that my hands were trembling."So you're here to file an FIR huh?" he asked tapping the table with his pen and still looking down which was kinda creepy and suspicious. 

I was lost in my own thoughts and in my mind, I saw myself asking me "The suspect? The suspect?" I opened my eyes to a loud BOOM!!! it was the thunder. It seems the constable was asking me who the suspect was, "MICHEAL EDWARDS!!!!" I flashed. "I'm sorry?" asked the constable still looking down. "The suspect is Michael Edwards." I corrected. "Oh! Really?" The constable stop tapping the pen and stood up looking at me. After I saw his face, my heart skipped a beat. It was Mathew, Mathew Edwards, Michael's brother. I ran away from there as fast as I could. "You should've trusted him, and stayed away from here!" I heard him scream. After I got home I called Mary over and told her what happened. I also told the kids what they deserved to know, Joey ran to his bedroom and shut the door after he heard what I said. "PAPA BAD PAPA!" said Alex
