(n.) a crossroad; a critical decision or turning point in one's life

Last year when Yeosang had received his letter of acceptance he had been bouncing off the walls excited that he had been accepted into such a prestigious school such as Zeeta, and even more joyous when he had found out that his best friend Jung Wooyoung was accepted too.

Yeosang could barely even remember a time where Wooyoung hadn't been in his life. The two had met in year 7, become the best of friends, they'd spent practically every day together and even when they weren't in each other's presence they were still in contact.

Yeosang had been worried that maybe their friendship would waver after high school as they each chose their own pathways in life, but he was ecstatic when he found out that they'd both been accepted into the same school so now their friendship was guaranteed to continue and thrive.

Although they were both studying different courses; Yeosang with Marine Sciences and Wooyoung in Botany, Yeosang was thrilled that they wouldn't be separated.

It was no surprise for those close to the pair that as soon as they were given the chance they applied to share a campus dorm room together, and both boys were happy when their application had been accepted.

The pair had spent their Christmas break planning out how they wanted their dorm to look, planning their class schedules so they were as similar as possible so that any free periods and lunch breaks they had they could share together, they picked the same elective class, and they had scouted the internet for all the cool places they could go to that were on or near campus.

They'd even planned move in day. Wooyoung had gotten his licence in the latter half of final year so he was going to drive them both there, they had a Spotify playlist ready to go and they made a list of snacks they wanted to buy on the day before to keep them energised for the long trip.

Yeosang was super exited with all their plans and he couldn't wait to start, but as soon as the new year rolled in things went downhill, so downhill Yeosang was drowning, trapped in an ocean of his own tears.

It was exactly the moment that the clock hit 12 am on new year's, marking January the 1st. That's where things went wrong.

Both Wooyoung and Yeosang were attending their close friend Seonghwa's New Year's Party. Like all of the many attendees, which must have been over 40, they had been drinking all night, their red cups constantly being refilled with a concoction of different alcoholic beverages courtesy of Seonghwa's boyfriend Yunho and his array of credit cards.

Only moments prior to 12am Wooyoung and Yeosang had been yelling and dancing wildly, glow sticks in their hand, in front of the speakers to their favourite group BTS's song Mic Drop.

Someone had yelled that it was almost 12 and everyone congregated in the backyard for the main event; the fireworks.

The music was turned down and everyone looked to the sky as they began to loudly count down from 10.

Wooyoung wrapped his arm around Yeosang's waist, and although it made his heart skip a beat he didn't think much of it. Wooyoung was just holding him so they didn't get separated in the darkness of the backyard. . .right?

When the clock hit 12 and Yeosang began to turn his head to yell Happy New Year to his best friend that's the moment everything changed.

Yeosang wasn't given the chance to yell Happy New Year, in fact he couldn't even say the words if he tried, for Wooyoung had kissed him, was kissing him.

In that exact moment Yeosang was in awe, shock and pure bliss, he had loved his best friend for longer than he can remember. There had never been anyone else that truly held the position Wooyoung held in Yeosang's heart, no one even came close.

Yeosang had imagined countless times kissing, touching and making love with his blonde best friend, as well as marrying him, where they would live and what they would name their children.

Wooyoung's name and all his dreams for their future were lovingly doodled and planned out in his journals, which he kept locked away and hidden in a chest under his bed for his eyes and heart alone.

Although Yeosang knew Wooyoung liked guys he had never acted on his feelings, it was partly due to confidence, Yeosang knew that if he could then he probably would have asked the blonde out himself. But Yeosang lacked confidence, Wooyoung was always the front man of the two.

The other reason Yeosang never asked Wooyoung out, was fear. His own parents had split up when he was younger, his father leaving him with his mother and then literally disappearing not wanting anything to do with their life.

His parents were two people that were meant to love each other more than anything in the world until death do they part. His mother had trusted his father, but yet his father had taken his mothers heart, broken it and then returned it to her in tatters.

Yeosang may have been young when his parents split but his mothers cries over his father's departure still rung as clear as day in his mind.

Yeosang had seen how her heart broke and it served as a solid reminder to guard your heart with utmost care even with those closest to you because it's those closest that hurt the most when they leave.

Yeosang's father was proof that even people you love and trust can turn on you and Yeosang didn't want to give away his heart to someone only for it to be returned irreparable like his mothers. So Yeosang had built up his walls as he grew up, nervous to ever let them down.

Yeosang was much more content to keep his feelings to himself and have Wooyoung in his life as a friend than as a partner to which he could lose or to whom might hurt him.

But the worry and all of the fear Yeosang held washed away as Wooyoung's lips pressed against his own at the stroke of midnight. Yeosang felt his walls crash down, he felt like Wooyoung was setting his heart free.

He never thought he'd ever be given the chance to act on his feelings and quench the thirst he'd been harbouring for all these years, and he most definitely wasn't going to let the prized opportunity go to waste and ruin the moment by pulling away.

Hence as Yeosang's adrenaline kicked in and set his heart alight, he had closed his eyes and began to kiss Wooyoung back releasing everything he held in his heart.

Their kiss was powerful and explosive just like the fireworks above them, and had clearly awoken a dormant passion that was webbed inbetween the pair.

Kissing Wooyoung felt magical, it felt wonderful and not even the taste of alcohol on the blondes breath could ruin the moment. Wooyoung was kissing him, that's all that mattered.

The fireworks soon stopped, but Yeosang hadn't been paying attention, and the kiss he was sharing with Wooyoung wasn't dying down either, instead it was growing more and more passionate as Wooyoung embraced him fully in his arms and lovingly with his lips.

One minute they were kissing in the backyard as people celebrated the new year, and the next, Wooyoung had taken his hand, lacing their fingers together.

Wooyoung was then leading him inside, they were stumbling up the stairs to the second story, and then pushing open a door that led to a spare bedroom, about to do something that Yeosang never in a million years would have thought he'd ever regret.

A/n Im going to do something a bit different with my warnings with this book. Most of you are probably aware that when an author places an (M) next to a chapter title that it will be mature.

Well for this book I've decided to take on that concept so when you see:

(M)

That means mature. I don't plan on having violence or anything so 'M' will mostly refer to smut.

Please keep this in mind when reading :) And remember if it makes you uncomfortable you don't need to read it!!
