Elijah and his crush

The job

Elijah burst into Emily's apartment and swung a very surprised Emily around in his arms.
"I GOT THE JOB" he yelled as he swung her around the room in happiness. He finally put her down.
"Wait, what?" Emily laughed, but still confused.
"The job I went for this morning!" He said panting.
"They had to tell us as soon as we had finished because they want us to start right away." Emily looked up at him so proud.
"And it's so good as well! It's well paid, they cover loads of my benefits and it's literally my dream job, because you can move up in the company." Elijah yelled still in denial.
Emily tackled him into a hug, so proud of him.
"I'm so proud of you!" Emily said, jumping into his arms, Elijah almost missing her and dropping her.

"So how did your interview go" he said, still happy with himself. But his smile faltered when he saw Emily's face. "What?" Emily looked up at him before holding her breath and telling him.
"Honestly, with my behaviour, I wouldn't have even hired me." She said looking down.
"What happened?"
"Nothing went particularly wrong, it was more that...... I didn't stand out. I had nothing unique to show that she should hire me"
"Oh come on babe, you're so unique. I'm sure if you don't get this one, another company will be begging to have you, he said hugging her. Emily's face was still sad and Elijah being Elijah, couldn't stand that.
"Come on babe smile" he said. Still holding her he dug his hands into her armpits to let out her infectious laughter.
"DAHAHAOOHHNNN'TTTTTT, ELLLIJJAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH" Emily hysterically laughed, trying to get down before she fell on the floor. But behind 6 foot in the air in Elijahs grip, she was going nowhere.
"Come one babe, I just wanted a smile." He laughed, To steady herself Emily has put her arms round Elijahs neck, however that seemed to backfire one her because soon she felt light scratching fingers in her armpits.
"NOOSHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHA BAHAHAHHABBBEEEEEE, PLEEAAASSSSEEEEE" she screamed of laughter burrowing her face into his neck, shaking her head trying to fight back to laughter. At this point, Elijah wasn't even trying to cheer her up. He just wanted an excuse to make Emily laugh and her her laughter instead. Emily was about to pass out from all the laughter and teasing until the phone rang.
"Saved by the phone!" He laughed putting her down so one of them could answer it.
"Hello?" Emily called into the receiver.
"Hi, please could I speak to Emily Branford please" said the lady on the other line.
"Sorry May I ask what this is in reference to" Emily said, trying to not laugh at Elijah who was making fun of her choice of words.
"We would like to see her regarding the job opportunity we have for her. Could you please pass on the message that we would like to see her, tomorrow at 9:40 to discuss this."
"Yes I'll be sure to tell her" Emily said pretending Mx
"Thankyou, bye"
