chapter two: FAM

'ahad''ahad''ahad' I heard amba(mom) scream right into my ears oh geez for heaven's sake I'm 27 but still amba wakes me up just like old times what to do what to do 'younglady you'd better wake up this instance or you know what will happen' 'I'm up' i said throwing up my hands in a surrender like way if not I know her too well for me to continue lying down she's just gonna dump ice water on me I know it sounds wayward but when she comes to wake us up she moves around with a Jerry can of ice water 'now move into that bathroom I've already added the bath salt to the water' amba said 'ohh my amba I love you soo much now I don't have to wait for it to dissolve the way I want' I said and gave her a peck ' now off you go you know I still have to wake your siblings up and they are the real drama' she said shooing me into the bathroom and at the same time giving me the bathrobe, I just love this woman she's always jumping up and down taking care of us without her even taking care of her self...

Forks clicking and little conversations like pass me the bread, butter, milk, sugar, sauce, veggies and so on are all you can hear until pai (father) decided to clear his throat just then the atmosphere turned from light to dense because whatever he's gonna say I'm sure it's gonna break everyone 'farida I want you to know that whatever I do is for your own benefit not mine and I love you so much' he then paused wait I've heard that same sentence years back *flashback* 'Ahad I want you to know that whatever I do is for your own benefit not mine and I love you so much you're getting married in the next three weeks' *present day* oh no thats the same sentence pai used when he was trying to get me married for the first time not that there was a second time but my baby sis is gonna be soo broken ya Allah he cleared his throat again and continued 'you are getting married to ayman abdullah in three months time' he then stood up and said to mom that he's leaving for California and he's going to be there for almost two weeks they exchanged hugs and kisses then he left with amba trailing behind him ohh pai u're so cheap aswear he could have at least changed the speech or something else but just same as last time he didn't even consider that i was there and i would remember, I was waiting for farida to break and to my greatest surprise there was bathos in the dining room and they were all mimicking pai's words 'what's this all about oya spill' I said looking at farida, sameer, azim and faisal then they all broke into fits of laughter and farida started crying I went over to her and said 'hey ree what's wrong you know you can tell me anything right' I at times call her ree 'this was the reaction you wanted right?' she asked and my face turned from worried to confused 'ree wha...' she cut me off with a smile on her face and said 'Ahad ayman abdullah is my dream guy and has always been well we've been dating for a while now now' my mouth just dropped down and I nodded slowly signaling her to continue 'well you know that housewarming/graduation party dad held, ayman and his family came and sparks happened you know it was love at first sight then we stepped out for a while and by a while I mean three hours we got to know each other and later on started dating'  well to say I am shocked is an understatement but I remember that day clearly we moved into this house newly and she finished her medical school so the party was combined and she went missing everyone was worried just as pai was about to call his security team she came back and said that she had an emergency at the hospital she worked at I sensed that she wasn't telling the truth but I just let it slide because I was dealing with problems of mine at that time 'and you guys all knew about it and no one thought it was necessary to let me know' I said looking at the boys and they started scratching their heads 'oh hey amba we were just talking about you' said azim  and amba gave him that look that says  oh really?  and we all laughed we finished eating and all left 'farida I'm leaving for work we'll catch up later as it is I'm already late' I said hopping into my car and she did the same

'I know that the idea is very risky but think about it if it goes as planned we'll make trice the profit after all business is all about taking risks' they all nodded and asked for a minute to decide and I stepped out of the meeting room 'well how did it go with the investors' mary said immediately she saw me 'i am hoping for it to go as planned they are currently making a decision' i said exhaling, just then a guy called on to me to come in 'soo what have you decided' I said fear overtaking me because honestly none of them had a smile on their faces ' after much thought and consideration we accept the deal but' just as he said that but my heart stopped 'but we will have to start the process right away' just as he said that a big smile found it's way to my lips ' alright then as you say thank you so much it's a pleasure doing business with you' I said and he replied 'the pleasure is ours' I then shook his hand and lead them out. As I was passing I told Mary that all the staffs can take the rest of the day off  and she just looked at me weirdly I shrugged it off and left for my office, after all the staffs have left I also head home. And for the rest of the day I went to a restaurant with my siblings  for dinner and obviously bills on me I have to say feeding four people is hard especially when those  people are my siblings I've slimmed down already but either way I still love them.
