Diamond looked around at her surroundings with wide eyes.

They were back.

On Aura.

She had no idea how to feel about this. She was kind of happy, kind of sad, kind of angry- it was like all her emotions were rolled up together in one tight ball.

"What do we do now?" asked Rissa.

"I honestly have no idea," said Diamond.

Right as Diamond was finished speaking, a talon suddenly came out of nowhere and grabbed her snout.

She growled in surprise. she wiped around, trying to spot her attacker, but it was no use. The dragon kept well out of her sight. she wiped around again, and this time got sight of the dragon. But it was who it was that surprised her the most.

"Ithim!" she yelped in surprise.

"Diamond?" said the blue dragon.

"Diamond! Where have you been? Mother has been histaric!"

"Long story. But you know how I always wanted to run away?" asked Diamond. "And find your own true love," said Ithim. "Ya, I know. What about it?"

"Well I lived my dream, and now I know that running away was a really bad idea. Shure, I met some friends, but it was still a terrible idea. You see, I got captured by these tiny little creatures called humans."

"Humans? Like in the storys that mom used to read to us?"

"Yup," said Diamond. Just as creepy and Crawley too."

"So, anyway guys, this is my brother Ithim. Ithim, this is everyone."

Ten moments later...

Everyone was silent as they were flying. As an attempt to start conversation, Diamond said, "so Ithim, how has mother been since I ran away?" "oh it has been terrible," he said. Mom has sent search parties all over Aura. and since she could not find you, she was going make me marry the princess of the Brelon kingdom." "but-" stammered Diamond. "Weren't you engaged to Frytari?" "yes," he said. "But she said if we couldn't find you, I had to."

Diamond snapped her mouth shut. It was her fault. She refused to be Betrothed to the prince of the Brelon kingdom. Now she knew what will happen if she refused to be betrothed to Jerdarenth. Shure, he was handsome, but he was not for her. she had already found her other half.

They spent the night on a small island, not in Zuforian nor Brelon territory. Though Diamond was tired, she was too restless to sleep. She had no idea what she would say to her mother.

Giving up trying to sleep, she got up and went to sit on a big rock. as she was looking out at the cloudless sky, she felt something brush her. She looked over her shoulder and saw Crimson on the rock with her. "Couldn't sleep? If I know you correctly, you're restless when you're worried about something. Do you want to talk about it?" Diamond sighed. "It's just I have no idea what to do. If I go back to the palace, my mother will make me be betrothed to Jerdarenth. But if I don't, she will make my brother marry Vydhir if I don't. And I don't want my brother to be unhappy, but I also..." she trailed off ad looked at Crimson. "I want to marry someone I love." Diamond then twined her tail around Crimson's. "I want to be with you."

The next morning they continued on to the palace. When they got there, they landed in the thrown room. As they walked into the room, Queen Ziellipholth lifted her head and looked at them with widened eyes.

"Diamond?" she said.

"Mother," said Diamond.

"Diamond, who are these dragons?"

"These are my friends mother. Meet Crimson, Emerald, Violet, and Rissa. Oh, and mother, fun fact about them, I met them all beyond the sky wall." said Diamond.

"You know your not supposto have any friends," said Ziellipholth. "And you." she hissed, pointing at Emerald. "I thought you were dead."

"On to business. Damond, get ready for your betrothal."

"No." said Diamond stubbornly.

"WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY TO ME?!"

"No." Replied Diamond simply. "Mother, have you ever asked- just once- what I want? Have you ever stopped to think 'oh, mabey Diamond wants to find her own true love? Have you ever thought that, just once? Mabey I don't want the prince of Brelon to be my mate?" she stopped and looked over at Crimson and twined her tail around his. "And what if I already found who I want to marry?"

"You really think it is up to me, don't you? Well, it's not. The king of Brelon says if either you or Ithim don't marry his offspring, he will go to war with us. You want thousands of lives lost just so you can have your silly romance? I'm shure Jerdarenth does not like it any more than you do."

Diamond was torn. She could not let her kingdom die, but she also wanted to be with Crimson. She looked into his aquermine eyes for comfort, but he was just as torn as she.

In the Brelon kingdom... (Jerdarenth)

was torn. News had come, saying princess Diamond was back. But he did not want to marry her, he wanted to marry tyui. Ever since the incident in the ballroom, he had been taken aback with her beauty. He had tried time and time again to tell his father he did not want to marry Diamond. But his father was always extremely busy. The best time to tell would probably be during the betrothal ceremony.

The next day... (Diamond)

The betrothal was starting. Diamond sighed, and after a moment, she heard a faint sigh coming from beside her. She looked over at Jerdarenth "you don't want to be here either I see." said Diamond. He nodded his head. "I don't. I love someone else." "I know how you feel." she stopped talking. The betrothal was starting. "We are all gathered here today for a momentous occasion. The future fusion of our two kingdoms. The betrothal will now start."

Another red dragon stood forward. "We are here." said the dragon in an old voice. "For the binding of two for life. Prince Jetdarenth, and princess Diamond, do you accept the betrothal?

Here was her chance. "No," she and Jerdarenth said in unison. "Okay then." growled the king. "Care to explain why?" "We both already have someone we love," said Jerdarenth. He waved forward Tyui and twined his tail around hers. And then Diamond waved forward Crimson and twined her tail around his. "Fine fine fine." said the king. You will no longer be betrothed."
