You wake with a start the next morning, before dawn.
You expect to hear the baby crying, but find it silent, except for Legolas's deep, soft breathing.
You turn over in bed and face him. You smile as you gaze upon his face.
Ever since the baby was born, his smile never left his face. Even when he is sleeping.
You lay your hand over his. "You're going to be the best adda ever." You whisper softly. You lean forward and place a gentle kiss on his lips. He stirs a little, then continues on with his sleep.
You lay in bed, placing your hands behind your head, wanting to sleep for a little longer.
When no sleep comes, you silently slide out of bed and walk to your son's room.
You walk to the crib and pick him up, loving the way he feels in your arms.
You stare out the window, looking over Mirkwood. Your son stirs and you shush you him softly, rocking him. "This'll be yours one day, sweetie." You breathe, rubbing his back.
"Would it be alright if I held him?" A voice comes from the door way.
You turn and smile at Thranduil. "Good morning. And of course it would be alright." You say, walking across the room.
Your father-in-law meets you half way and looks at the sleeping figure in your arms. He lets out a little gasp and you place your son in his arms.
Thranduil holds his grandson with such love, it makes you tear up. "Y/N, he's so handsome." He says, looking up at you.
"Thank you." You breathe.
"Have you thought of a name?" Thranduil asks.
You shake your head. "Not yet. I want it to be like Legolas's though." You say.
He nods and you fold your arms across your waist, smiling. "Oh, um, Y/N, if you want to get yourself ready for the day, I'd be happy to watch him." He says.
"Really? That's so kind of you. Thank you." You say. You lean forward and plant a kiss on your son's forehead. "Le melin." You whisper.
You place a hand on Thranduil's shoulder. "Thank you." You say again.
"It's my pleasure." He says sincerely, a happy smile on his face.
