"Why are you stopping? You still have 20 more to go." He glared as he crouched to my level. "I'm trying." I grunted as I did one more sit up. "Maybe this will motivate you." He opened my switchblade and held it vertically on the floor behind me. "I dare you to stop now~." He mused.

15 minutes later I completed my last rep and collapsed to the ground, expecting a blade to go through my back. Instead it was just the hard, cold ground. I sighed with relief, grabbing my water bottle from Hisoka. "We will spar in 2 minutes." He tossed me some hand wraps. "What's this for?" I asked. "Do you ever listen?" He mocked. "I heard you, but if I'm not gonna get a clean hit on you then why do I need these?" I chucked them back. "Trust me, my sweets." He threw them over his shoulder. I rolled my eyes at his pride, even if it was only to throw a roll of hand wraps back at me. I envy how high he carries himself. "Are you done yet?" He impatiently sighed. "Give me a minute." I snapped as I finished wrapping my right hand. I jogged over to him and jumped into the ring. "You know what to do." He taunted. I jabbed with my left hand, but instead of dodging and hitting me back instantly, he merely blocked it. I pushed forward and kept hitting him. 'Left jab, right jab, left hook.' I narrated in my head. He blocked every hit like he knew what I was going to do before I did it. "You're gonna have to try harder than that if you're going to impress me." He sang. "I'm not here to impress you." I hit him harder. "Getting angry now, are we?" His eyebrows raised. "No I'm not." I spat as I kicked him. He blocked with his elbow of course, pissing my off more. "Boxing techniques aren't getting you anywhere love." He teased. "Hisoka if you don't shut up-" I cut myself off to focus. 'I don't want to get angry right now.' I calmed myself. "Or what my sweets?" My fist solidly hit his forearm, earning a chuckle from him.
"This." My bloodlust gushed out, making Hisoka moan loudly. Disgusted as I was, I never looked away from his golden orbs. He started to attack me now that I was getting more serious, and I was fully prepared. His face perked up with amusement as I blocked his attacks easily without breaking eye contact. I used nothing but sheer strength and adrenaline which he caught on to, so he started to switch things up. 'Adapt to change.' I silently repeated to myself. He used his speed and agility against me, knowing one of my many weaknesses. My speed may not be up to par with Hisoka's, but my reflexes are exceptional. I twisted my body and blocked his punch with two arms, making me slide back a few feet. When I hesitated to launch myself at him, I set up a clear opening for him. He roundhouse kicked me, slamming me into the wall just like before. 'I am not going to go through this again!' I mentally screamed as I dodged the next kick. I rolled in between his legs, then tried to back sweep them. He front flipped over me and grabbed the collar of my shirt, throwing me into the air. Then I felt his bungee gum attach to my back, pulling me down. Within milliseconds, a sharp pain shot through my back. 'He did not just break my fucking spine.' I cursed as I flew up to the ceiling. 'If he's using his nen, I'm using mine. Just focus on healing yourself first.' I closed my eyes before I hit the ground and I focused on the pain in my back. Warmth took over my body and I instantly felt relieved. It wasn't fully healed, but it was bearable. When I hit the ground Hisoka looked surprised, but he continued to fight me. 'How else can I use my nen?' I thought as I dodged Hisoka's foot. I was snapped out of my thoughts when I was jerked towards him at immense speed, having barely any time to react. I made the force field around myself again as quick as possible, knowing it's the only thing I knew how to do other than heal. His eyes widened before he braced for the impact. The shield made contact with his body, bulldozing him to the floor. He released his nen from me and I shut off the bubble shield. I was now sitting on top of Hisoka, mounting him, claiming my victory. I was panting heavily with blood running from my mouth, some dripping onto Hisoka's face. "What a performance, I should get you mad more often~." He grinned. "Shut up." I grunted. Before I could process what I said, I was flipped hard onto the ground. Hisoka was now sitting on my hip bones, pinning my wrists on either side of my head. "That doesn't mean you have the right to be rude to me, my sweets." He brought his face extremely close to mine, leaving only a few inches between us. My breath hitched and my heart beat increased, not daring to move. I didn't want to kiss Hisoka, despite his charm and good looks. I was Illumi's, whether he would accept me or not. Then his tongue slipped out of his mouth slowly and I squeezed my eyes shut. I felt his warm, wet tongue lick my cheek. "You were a little messy, that's all~." Then I gasped for air, now that Hisoka was off of me. "Let's go now, I'm a bit hungry. Aren't you?" He sauntered to the door. I huffed in response since I was having trouble getting off the floor. Hisoka walked back to me, rolling his eyes. He held out his hand, flourishing his fingers in an impatient manner. Then I was yanked up and I hit his chest. "Hisoka what the hell-" Then he picked me up bridal style. "I was thinking steak tonight~."

He carried me all the way to the room and placed me gently on the bed. I watched him walk to the small kitchen and pull out a few steak fillets from the fridge. 'He's really cooking for me tonight.' I smiled to myself. I stumbled off the bed and sat on the ground. 'I need to heal myself fully now that I have the chance.' I crossed my legs and steadied my breathing. Once I was done, I taken over by overwhelming dizziness. I shut my eyes and collapsed back to the ground. I reopened them a few seconds later to be accompanied by a massive headache. "You need food my sweets. Hard day of training on an empty stomach will do that to you. You need to learn to take better care of yourself, you're an adult after all." Hisoka gently placed my plate on the table across from his. 'Ok mother.' I snickered to myself as I got up to eat. I noticed that Hisoka looked slightly disheveled after our training match, which made me happy as a clam. I got what I wanted in the end, but not without serious injuries. I was sure he was going to kill me. If I didn't have my nen, I would be dead already. I chewed through the tough meat that he over cooked, restraining myself to comment on his bad cooking skills. 'Hisoka should stick to fighting instead.' I chuckled to myself. "You know, I almost failed the Hunter Exam because of this." Hisoka spoke as if he read my mind. "Oh?" I inquired. "My second time taking the exam, they had a cooking phase. It was to cook a pig instead of a cow though." He explained. "Well you obviously passed, how did you almost fail?" I asked. "She failed everyone because she was pissed off, but I know I can't cook so it wasn't a surprise either way." He finished. "Go on." I leaned in closer. "The Hunter Exam Committee stepped in and forced her to reassess. Everyone passed that phase, well, those who weren't stupid enough to kill themselves." He chuckled. "Wow, the Hunter Exam seems fun." I smiled. "You should take it this year." He said. "I don't know..." I trailed off. "By the end of this week you should be ready for it." He stated. "Was this the plan all along? Did Illumi ask you to train me for the Hunter Exam?" My voice raised.  "Well not exactly~." He hummed. "What do you mean 'not exactly'?" Rage was starting to build up in my chest. 'Does Illumi just want me gone...' I thought. "It was in the back of our minds, but the main reason was for you be able to protect yourself. Remember, high classed assassins have people after them. They'll come after you. I think we've had this talk before, have we not?" He brushed my anger aside. "Fine, I'll take the Hunter Exam. When is it?" I impulsively agreed. "Next month.~"
