It has been almost a month since we left L.A. and moved to Illinois, Chicago. Why did we move? Because of me, my parents were freaking out about what could happen to me if we stayed. According to them, I have a lot of enemies; and one day I might not come back.
But, the bright side is that even I'm starting school almost at the end of the semester; I adapted well. The bad side? People gossip and they kind of know who I was and what have I done.
– Hey – a guy appeared in front of me. He was tall, with brown hair and I noticed he was wearing glasses, and behind that round glasses of Harry Potter, I saw his eyes, I couldn't tell the colour only that they were light. – You are Sofia, right?
– Yes – I took off one of my earphones
– I'm Alexander – he sat next to me and shook my hand – Alec
– Nice to meet you, Alec – I closed my laptop that had on my legs – I'm Sofia, and you already knew that
– Yeah – he shrugged – I've been watching you
– Ok? No creepy at all – I smiled
– No no no – he said nervously – NOT like that. I mean I've seen you in tech class and studied the way you program things and it's pretty amazing
– Thanks
– You have a lot of potentials – he adjusted his glasses – With a little help you can do great things
– A lot of people have told me that
– Great – he smiled
– It's that all?
– No, no – he kind of remembered what he was actually doing here – What do you think about hackers? There's no wrong answer
– Well... What do you want me to answer you? – I saw him in the eyes, they were like green? – What do you want to hear?
– The truth, I guess
– I'm pretty sure that you want me to think about hackers like something amazing; otherwise, you wouldn't be here. – he seemed confused – I think they are great
– Cool – he looked relieved with my answer. He was funny – My friends and I, we are some kind of wannabe hackers. And I think, we think that you can be actually pretty good at it
– Let me stop you right there – I turned my body to face him – I know where you are going. And thank you but no thank you
– I know it can be a little scary but...
– It's nos scary it's illegal – I interrupted – And I have done it and I got into a lot of trouble
– Really? – he said surprised – What did you hack?
– Nothing important
– Tell me
– It was something that took me no more than 5 minutes – I explained – So it wasn't that important, but still, I got into a lot of trouble
– But well no all hackers are bad – he smiled – We are trying to change the world for good
– I tried the same thing – I nodded – But the world didn't change a bit
– We cannot change the world alone – he stood up – Give me your phone
– What? why? – I took out my phone and I gave it to him
– Here's my number – he typed on my phone – Call me if you change your mind
The bell rang and classes continued as usual. When I got home I looked for the number of Alec to see his name "Alec Felut". I took out my laptop from my backpack and tape "Instagram" in Google. Once it loaded I look for his Instagram profile and for my good luck I founded it and it was a public profile. I started to scroll his photos and they weren't bad.
– What are you doing? – my mom was behind me
– Jesus! – I startled
– No, just mom – she smiled – Who's that?
– I don't know – I confessed – That what I'm trying to found out
– Why you have his number? – she pointed to the unlock screen of my phone
– He's a guy from school
– Is his profile private?
– What? No – I deny – Mom relax I did nothing
– Good. Because I told you to stop it – she was talking about all the hacking thing
– I know
– Gracias* – she smiled – La comida esta lista, para que bajes*
– Coming – she left. I knew and I understood the concern of my mom, and I didn't want to disappoint her but there was something that tempted me to call him

*Gracias = Thank you
* La comida esta lista, para que bajes = Meal is ready, so go down
