I EXIT MY BEDROOM AT the Holland house to delicious smell of... French toast? Ah, it must be Nikki's famous blueberry French toast. She somehow melts the blueberries and uses it as syrup. It's so much better -and healthier- than regular French toast. I could always wake up to that delicious smell.
I've been spending the night here since two days ago, Toms birthday. Him, Haz and I all decided to stay in London for a couple more days before flying back to Brooklyn. Haz is staying with his family, though. He doesn't get to spend much time with them. Uncle Robert and Jacob flew back so they could sleep better. They both have a hard time sleeping in other countries.
Though, I think Jacob just wanted to be by himself with three dogs in the house. Especially my new lab puppy, Avenger. He's going to squeeze the hell out of him and Kamikaze. Tessa doesn't liked to be squeezed so much, so he'll probably just pat her head.
I rub my eyes as I slowly make my way down the stairs and head towards the kitchen. I follow the smell of French toast... well, toasting.
Nikki looks up at me from the plates she's preparing. She must've heard me shivering from the AC. I slept in nothing but a white tank-top red plaid pajama shorts. It's surprising how warm London usually is, so that's why I wore something like I am.
"Good morning, Rocky. Did you sleep well?" Nikki asks, sprinkling power reread sugar onto the toast.
I smile tiredly are Nikki and grab the prepared plates to set on the table. "I slept great, Mrs. Holland. And you?"
"I slept wonderful, darling, thank you for asking." For as long as I've known her, Nikki has always been so kind to me. She's very polite and loves to spoil me.
Nicola Frost-Holland was always like a mother to me, since mine was behind bars with my father. She treats me like a daughter and claims I'm the daughter she's always wanted to have.
I hear multiple pairs of feet stampede down the stairs and towards the kitchen. I look to the stairs as I set two more plates onto the table. All of the Holland men are rushing for Nikki's toast.
"Blueberry toast!" Sam exclaims. He's the first to sit at the table, earning a shove from Paddy.
Paddy and Harry roll their eyes at their brother and make their way to the fridge. "Who wants to drink what?" Harry asks.
"Orange juice," Paddy, Sam, and Tom all reply.
Harry nods and pulls the jug of orange juice out of the fridge. "Dad?"
Dom shakes his head as he pecks his wife lovingly on the cheek. "I'll make myself a coffee, son. Thank you."
"Rocky?"
"Orange juice, please."
"Alright." Harry says, grabbing multiple glass cups from a nearby cabinet.
Tom grabs some forks while I grab napkins and we set them neatly on the dining room table. Sam sits in his chair like he's the king of a palace and we're all his servants.
"Sam, get your butt off the chair and help." Nikki scolds, but her tone is so sweet it sounds like she's asking.
Sam sighs and trudges his way towards Harry. He grabs the glasses of orange juice and places them onto the decorative coasters. Paddy and Tom assist me with passing out the plates.
"Alright," Paddy says, pleased with our work. "All ready to go."
"Perfect! Because I'm starving." Tom says, causing us all to laugh.
We all take our usual seats. Yes, I have a usual seat at the house of Holland. I've been here so many times and am practically apart of the family, that they gave me a seat. I sit in between Tom and Paddy, Tom at the end of the table while me, Paddy, and Harry sit on the side. Dom sits on the other end of the table while Nikki and Sam sit opposite of us.
"Dig in," Nikki beams, obviously pleased with her work.
We all happily dig in, devouring the delicious blueberry syrup and warm toast. Well, all of us except Tom. He's always loved his mother's food... especially her blueberry French toast.
I sneak glances at Tom as I devour the breakfast before me. As I begin to cut another piece of bread, I feel my phone vibrate in my pajama shorts pocket, causing me to jump up with fright. The Holland's all look up at me
"Are you okay?" Dom questions, worryingly.
I smile and nod as I begin to take out my phone. "Y-Yes, I'm fine. Sorry, I just have my phone on vibrate and it kind of scared me."
I see them all sigh with relief as I read the notification.
