Prologue

He just doesn't get it. how can you be sad and happy at the same time? Sad is a bit of an understatement for Louis. But he's happy , he really likes school (for the social anyway) , he just loves his mates. Liam and Niall. Liam has always been particulalrly protective over Louis even before he found out Louis was cutting himself. That was hard for Liam. He'd found Louis in the bathroom , his arm covered in beads of blood that had sept through his jumper. He'd initially thought Louis had accidently hurt himself but it became clear that it was intentional when Louis wouldn't let Liam see his arm and had hold of a razor. Thankfully Liam was understanding. Well , as understanding as he could be. He didn't lecture Louis but he did have a talk with him. It was nothing new to Louis. He already knew how bad it was and how to keep safe blah blah blah but if it gave Liam a sense of peace then he would happily roll with it anyway. Liam really kept an eye on him after that. He made sure to sneak not so subtle glances at his arms every once in a while. Louis soon got tired of that and resorted to cutting his legs instead so Liam wouldn't be on his case. He took Louis out alot aswell with Niall , who hadn't seem to notice louis situation. After Liam found out Louis didn't really bother hiding his arms away with long sleeved jackets because there was not point. He only ever did that if he had cut himself alot. He didn't like the idea of Liam looking at his mutilated arm. He just felt too exposed.Niall knew that Louis got really sad from time to time but he was to carefree to really lok into it. That's what Louis loves about him. He's just so happy. Whenever louis is around him , he always brightens his mood no matter how depressed or upset he might be feeling , Niall makes it ten times better. He has other friends too. Zayn is really nice. He is a mutual friend of Liam and Nialls , so naturally Louis get's on with him when they hang out together. It's funny when Zayn goes out or sits with them at lunch since nearly everyone in the school thinks he's gorgeous. Don't get him wrong , Louis agrees one hundred percent that he is handsome , but he's just not Louis type.Neither is Blaire. Niall tried to set her up with Louis , she is a great girl and ticks all of the boxes and Louis would probably have an amazing relationship and really enjoy it .... if Blaire was a boy that is. He'd always known he was gay. Even when he was really young and he purposley held hands with the other boys because it felt nice. Nialll and Liam were fine with louis being gay. They really enjoy it actually , picking out people for Louis to go out with. Louis has had a couple of boyfriends but nothing serious. Just a few awkward kisses here and there and holding hands before breaking up a month later.

He's really clever as well. Not just with his schooling but in general. He has a total of six siblings who he adores. They all live together along with him and his mum. His stepdad is on a working buisness trip for a couple of months but comes back every so often when he can. He's nice enough and a good dad to the girls and little lad but Louis doesn't really get on too much with him. There isn't any tension but it's just not a very loving aura that comes from him and Louis doesn't expect it either since he is 18 and only met the man a couple of years ago . It would be stupid to think they could just form a father and son bond perfectly but they're working on it and Louis is ok with that.He's particularly close to his eldest sister Lottie. She's so beautiful and is really loving towards him. He loves the bonds he has with his siblings , especially Lottie since there wasn't too much of an age gap , it was good to be able to relate. Louis hadn't told Lottie about him being gay even though it was a bit obvious when he brought his boyfriends home to play xbox , she just didn't grasp it. He always chuckles whenever she asks about him having a girlfriend.

His life is pretty good if you cut out the depression bit. He doesn't even know why he has it. He has a great family and friends but he isn't confident with himself sometimes. That's where the cutting came in. He hasn't done it for a while and isn't getting any extreme urges to so that's good. He just gets waves of depression. He doesn't want to go ut and stays in bed all day and cancells any unimportant plans with Liam and Niall , but they understand that he just needs a day or two to get his emotions out before he's himself again.

Then there's Harry. 

He's just so nice. Harry. Everyone loves him. He isn't exactly popular but he isn't unpopular either. He just talks to alot of people. Obviously he has close friends. His best friend being Zayn Malik. They've know each other for a couple of years and have a really good brotherly bond. He's very intrigued when Zayn introduces him to Niall , Liam and Louis. Particularly Louis actually. 

Harry lives with his stepdad and mother along with his best and only sister Gemma. They are like two peas in a pod. It was harder on his sister rather than him when his mum and dad divorced but they still see each other regularly. His mum is happy with her partner now so that's all that matters.He does his best to please everyone but not in a n overwhelming , over bearing way.He definatley knows his limits. Even though his school education is a stream of constant A's , he doesn't work overly hard at it. It just comes naturally.
