I got up the next morning ready to get the day started.My mom came and knocked on my door around 10 and told me to get dressed.I did my regular morning routine and then I found a silk blue shirt and some blue jeans to put on.Last but not least I put on my heart necklace my mom got me yesterday.Around 11 we were ready to go and have some fun.
We pulled up to Waffle House and I was starving.We went and got seated they took our order and about 15 minutes later they brought us our food.While eating it was kind of awkward because me and my mom never really talked that much so we just spent most of the time looking at each other and other people.I decided to break the silence by asking her how work was going.
"It's going good but I would kind of like to find another job.",Mom said
"That's good I hope you do too it's gets boring all at the house by myself sometimes.",I said as I tapped my finger nails on the table.
"I know you don't see me that much around the house and I know we don't talk much or have that great of a relationship but I would like to change that from here on.",Mom said
"I would like to change that too.",I said
We finished up and went to the mall.We walked around until we finally decided on going into Forever 21.I put on different clothes until I finally settled on 2 outfits.Leaving out I saw this handsome guy who just stared at me.He finally wave and smiled I did the same in return.I wasn't really the social type of person.He followed us out the store and into H&M.My mom didn't even noticed she was busy picking out outfits for herself.I stopped at this clothes rack and felt a tap on my shoulder and I turned around to see the mystery boy.
We talked he told me his name was Luke and he had just moved here from Texas.He asked if I could show him around I wasn't to thrilled about it.I looked up to see my mom at the cash register I told him that I had to go and before I could turn around he asked for my number.I gave it to him and left.Leaving out the store I started to think was he telling the truth and was I doing the right thing.
By the time we got home it was almost midnight we had so many bags of things to put up.After finishing getting the bags out the car and putting everything up I walked down to my mom's room.I knocked on the door and she told me to come in.I walked in and sat on her bed as she was finishing putting up her things.I got up and helped her with the rest.After we got done we just sat down on her bed not saying a word.I finally broke the silence and started a conversation.
"Look Mom I just wanted to say thank you for everything and thank you for buying me everything today and I am glad that we are trying to get a better relationship with each other.",I said
"It wasn't no problem Nia and I'm glad we're on the same page with each other.",My Mom said
"I'm head to my room and get some rest.",I said
"Alright,goodnight I love you",My Mom said
"Goodnight and I love you too.",I said as I was walking out the room and closing the door head to my room
Going to my room I got my things for my shower and went and got in the shower.After I got out the shower I went back to my room and got in my bed and made a attempt to go to sleep.Finally getting comfortable and falling asleep I was awoken by my vibrating phone.Picking up my phone I noticed I got a text from a unknown number.Unlocking my phone and reading the text it revealed that it was Luke.Thinking to myself should I reply or not even pay attention to the text?
