Skeppy POV

"What?" The wolf in front of me asks.

Did I say something wrong?

"You know, like what you see right before you die?" I say still getting used to using my voice for something other than howling or growling.

"I'm not an angel! You're not dead either!" The wolf responds shocked.

"Then how do you have a halo?"

"A what?"

"You don't know what a halo is?" I ask confused. Everyone in my old pack know what a halo was. A wolf once claimed to see an angel. They said it had a halo and wings. That's what other wolves said at least.

"Nope. Never heard of it."

"That's strange. Anyway, thanks for saving me."

"You're welcome! Anyway what is your name? I'm BadBoyHalo, but you can call me Bad."

"Bald?"

"No! Bad. B-A-D." He shouts, quickly going from happy to angry.

"Sorry, you don't need to yell." I say. He seems to get mad easy.

I think for a second about my name. It's been so long since I've heard anyone say it. "I'm Skeppy."

"Nice to meet you Skeppy!" He says happily. He doesn't seem to stay mad for long either. "How did you get here?"

"I was running away. I didn't really know where I was going though."

"The closest pack other than the Fantasy Pack is still really far away. And you don't look like you're from the Fantasy Pack."

"I've never heard of it." I admit.

"How long have you been out here alone?"

"I don't know. Months maybe? Definitely more than 2 weeks."

"Well, for whatever reason you left, you're safe here."

He doesn't try to ask why. I like that.

"Where is here exactly?" I ask.

"Oh, I never told you! I'm a member of the Muffin Pack. I'm out here patrolling the area quite a bit. I was assigned to patrol the pack borders because I can fly and enjoy it. That's when I found you and brought you here. This is my secret pond. I come here for the peace and quiet. No other wolves know about it."

"It's really pretty. But it's not really secret anymore." I joke.

"Well then it can be our secret pond."

At first I think he's joking as well. I've never been able to share something before. Bad gives me a friendly smile confirming what he said.

A few moments pass as I take everything in. I can't believe I actually got somewhere. What's even better is I found a wolf who is really nice!

"Thank you." I say to break the silence.

"For what?"

"Everything you've done for me so far. You are probably the nicest wolf I've ever met, and the bes-" I cough and spit out blood. I look in horror at the small droplets of crimson on the ground.

"You are still very weak. Talking probably isn't helping. You should stay here for the night."

"You have to leave?" I ask.
