Wow look at that! A decent sized chapter!

Bad continued to ask questions about Skeppy and Skeppy doing the same to him. What he didn't like to admit was that he was tracking his actions. More specifically his reaction to the questions he asked. Something about the wolf didn't set right with him.

He asked about his backstory and why he ran away. He was surprised when he got an answer, but the answer was not exactly what he wanted. Though he was happy with it. He had a feeling it was a subject that he'd best not ask about just yet so he didn't push further.

He was asked in return a bit about his life and how it was to be treated fairly. He explained how his role as a scout was pretty boring, and how nothing exciting really ever happened. He talked about how he found the pond by luck, and a bit about his pack structure.

His pack is slightly different to others. At least to his knowledge. While commonly known pack rules and laws are still prevalent, it's members were more free. Wolves did more of what they wanted unless told otherwise by a wolf of higher rank. But of course each wolf still had their role to play which, depending on the rank, could mean not a lot of spare time.

His pack is fairly large and a good bit bigger than the neighboring pack. Although they have less members they were far stronger. If bad could guess they could win in a fight with his whole pack. It was a scary thought which made him very glad that they were allies.

He never asked, but he really wanted to know what pack Skeppy was from. He knew there were other pack in the forest but he wasn't sure where. Well, he sort of knew the location of one, but it wasn't important. Since he didn't know much about what was past the territory borders he was curious about what else was out there.

Skeppy walked boredly in circles around the pond. After asking each other multiple questions they had just hung around the pond for the rest of the day getting to know each other better.

The moon was shining through the trees casting a bright glow onto the pond. Insects skidded across the water's surface causing small ripples, and a slightly annoying frog croaked on the edge. Above the pond where the trees weren't covering thousands of stars lit up the sky.

The air was calm and quiet. A small breeze blew through the leaves every once in a while, but he didn't count that. It was a relatively warm night as well. It was almost relaxing.

When is this met up again?

He laughs at himself. Ever since he left he had been running with not a moment of the kind of peace he wanted. It was a small hope, to have something he knew he could never have. He thought that maybe settling at this pond would give him that kind of peace.

It hadn't, and far from it. The back of his mind was on high alert. What if this whole this is a trap? What if this "beta" was waiting for the perfect opportunity for an ambush?

Bad seemed to only have good intentions but he still wasn't sure he could trust him. After all they had just met. And maybe he did trust Bad, and with his life too, but there was no was he was trusting a beta. Too high of a rank to be level headed no matter what Bad's opinion says.

He continued walking circles around the pond completely lost in thought. Through his daze he heard a sound from behind. The sound of wings soon followed and Bad landed beside him. A few stray leaves made their way into the air from his wings and gently fell back down to the ground. Bad slowed his pace to match his but stayed silent.

He walked to the side that had the most open space and sat down, Bad doing the same. They sat in a comfortable silence for a few moments listening to all the sounds of the night. He looked to the stars and back at bad who took it as an invitation to break their silence.
