At 10 am every Sunday the girls all get on the large bus and take a seat. I quickly find the seat furthest away from anyone as anti social is my life. The drive to the secret location of the auction it takes a gruesome 145 minutes! Over the worlds windiest roads and over the creakiest bridge ever. To make sure know one knows what we are doing the blinds are drawn. When we get to the auction we are pulled off the bus and taken to the registration room. There are 15 separate rooms with a lady at a desk to get information, a man with a whip if we disobey any rules during the registration and a man who locks and unlocks the door. When I walk into the room I take a seat. I go through the whole part of registration and then I am allowed to go the the clothes room. When I get to the clothes room I head over to a locker. Some other girls from other orphanages are already getting changed. We all get changed in one room where the door is shut. I take off my clothes and put them in a locker. Inside the locker there is a bath robe made out of really soft fabric. I put it on and head over to the dresses. When I get to the dresses I chose one that I like. Today I chose a blue dress. A bell chimed through the speakers meaning the auction was starting soon damm.... I ran over to shoes and found a fancy red pair of shoes. I slipped them on and followed other girls to hair. If your hair was 5" or longer you had to get it cut. Sadly I had held off since I came and snuck through but today a man with a hair measuring tool was here. I stood on the line and let him measure it. 19" he said and pushed me over to the hair cutting room. This was really a memory of my mother. Every night she would brush it and sing to me. Well now all I have is the faint memory of her. I walked over to the waiting line where 15 other girls where lined up. The woman cutting the hair looked not in the mood so as they cut my hair I only let small whimpers out when I saw hair on the ground. Finally I was done and the 3 chime bell went off meaning we all had to go line up.
