The Castle

Sitting in the cafe, sipping coffee Reeya waited for Trey to join them. He had called them to share something.

"Hello everyone,"he said taking a seat.

"You seem to be in a good mood,"said Zale.

"I have just found invaluable information,"he said. "You mean rumor,"said his sister, Haley.

"Spoilsport. Listen,there's an abandoned castle in the mountains. It is supposed to be Midas's, the king whose touch turned anything to gold. Imagine the wealth lying there. We should visit it."

"I didn't know that you listened to gossip," said Reeya.

"I listen to anything which can make lots of money,"said Trey. "So are you in?"

Reeya, Haley and Zale nodded. "Not me," said Katie.

"Where's your bloody sense of adventure?" asked Trey. "Don't have any,"said Katie.

"Then think about the money" said Zale.

"Fine"

Soon all five of them bent over the map. "Here's the place. It's an hour trek,"said Trey pointing at a cross.

"Let's meet under the oak tree at midnight, said Haley. "We'll carry torches, waterbottles and some snacks," said Zale.

"Have you marked the trail?" asked Reeya. "Yes. Everyone follow me," saying so Trey started walking.

Two hours later,

"You said that it would take an hour," accused Katie. " I misjudged," said Trey.

"Let's go back. I'm tired," said Haley and sat down. Trey leaned against a tree. "I didn't know that you'll be so willing to give up."

Zale climbed up to the peak and shouted, "Look there." Everyone scrambled to join him. Situated in the valley stood a castle.

"It's beautiful,"whispered Haley.
With renewed energy they marched towards it.

The double doors loomed over them. "Is it locked?" asked Zale.

"I don't think so. But it can be stuck. We should push it together,"said Katie. Trey said," On the count of three. One, two, three..."

They pried open the door and stumbled inside. After regaining their balance, they started to walk ahead. "It would take hours to search this place" said Haley in wonder. "Then we should start doing it right now," said Zale.

Before they could do anything the door shut and they heard a voice,

"Who dares to enter this castle?"
