"Ms. Alluka Ysabel Sanchez" He paused for a moment

"I sincerely like your determination but i'll be honest with you... You are too inexperienced to work for this company. Fresh grad, walang laman ang resume mo. All of my computer engineers and game developers in here have at least. At the very least, five to six years experience sa ibang companies and mind you magagandang companies yon, just to boost their credentials at makapagtrabaho dito. Swerte na kung three to four years pa lang ang experience mo pero natanggap ka na sa company namin. But those were rare cases, best of the best lang ang nakakagawa. After all we need to protect the image of the company being one of the top telecommunications company in the world."

I looked down at my feet

Alam ko na, na ang mga binitawang salita ng lalaki ay indirect way of saying 'sorry, di ka tanggap'

Bakit ba disappointed pa ko, alam ko namang di ako magaling

There was a sudden silence

"Pero bakit kita pinapunta for another job interview if nakita ko na sa resume mo na hindi maganda ang credentials mo although may potential naman daw ang sagot mo according to the person who interviewed you. Kaso mas maraming nag ace sa interview na yon kaysa sa'yo"

"Well, i just want to say that i'll give you a chance" He gave a timid smile

I looked up at my boss or rather soon to be boss

"I'll give you a task pag nagawa mo. You're hired pag hindi sorry Ms. Sanchez i can't accept you"

I gave him a questioning look

"You see, i'll retire soon papalit sakin ang anak ko but the thing is he has no interest in taking over the company. Masyado syang chill sa buhay, he's already 23. I want you to knock some sense in him"

"H-how can i do that sir?"

"By letting him see the beauty of working in a telecommunications company. I want him to have vision and ambition. Take yourself as an example Ms. Sanchez, why did you choose to be a computer engineer? Who inspired you to become one? Why are passionate about it?"

"I understand sir" I said, i'm now determined to do this task whatever it takes. Bahala na kung saan ako dadalhin nito.

"It's not easy though. Kasi kung madali lang to sana matagal ko na syang nakumbinsi. My son is stubborn as hell. He is smart pero di nya ginagamit sa tama. He will rather go to parties than attend business meetings"

"I also want to say na hindi kita tatanggapin dahil papatinuin o mapapatino mo ang anak ko, i will accept you if you finish this task because after this i'll know if you have the skills that i want and need for the company. Because if you make this impossible task possible then you are definitely competitive and good enough to be part of G Wide Telecommunications" He look directly in my eyes

Fuck allysa bakit ba kasi naisipan mong dun pa mag-apply agad.

Kasalukuyan akong kumakain sa kfc. Wala na akong pera kaya naman hotshots lang ang binili ko.

Kasalukuyan ko rin iniisip ang kung paano ko lulusutan ang problemang pinasok ko.

Sa totoo lang, being a computer engineer was never my ambition. I want to be a nurse but my father contradicted it. Sabi nya mahihirapan lang daw ako makahanap ng trabaho pagkagraduate, masyado na daw kasing maraming nurse sa bansa so malamang ang ending ko daw ofw or job mismatch.

I really felt sad and frustrated, after all it was my dream job since my childhood days. But i know that my dad has a point, i have a cousin na hindi sya makahanap ng trabaho as a nurse that's why she ended up going back to school and pursuing educ kaya ayon teacher na sya ngayon.

My dad wants me to become an engineer and since nurse lang naman ang dream job ko at ayaw ng parents ko na mag nurse ako edi pinili ko na lang yung gusto nilang course for me. Ayoko naman maging mechanical or civil engineer kaya ayon i settled for what i think is easy and fit for my capabilities that's why i ended up as a computer engineer. The main reason why they want me to be an engineer is that nandoon daw ang pera. Malaki din naman ang sahod ng other professions such as doctors or lawyers, so why engineer. Ewan ko ba kung bakit gusto talaga ni papa na mag engineer ako kung sahod lang pala habol nya. Pero sabi ni mama gusto daw maging civil engineer ni papa dati pero dahil sa di ko nalamang dahilan, di sya natuloy. Siguro yon yung dahilan kung bakit engineering ang gustong gusto nya para sakin. Aside from the fact na umaasa sila na ibabangon ko sila sa kahirapan.

And since i'm not really into the course hindi ako nageexcel. Pero wala na nandito na ako kaya might as well tapusin ko na lang.

During college days pa lang lahat ng com eng students na kilala ko gustong gusto magtrabaho sa G Wide. Maganda and benefits, mataas ang sweldo ang ganda pa ng credentials mo pag doon ka nag trabaho. After all, they are one of the top telecommunications company in the world at top one sa Pilipinas. Majority ng mga kakilala ko nagtrabaho muna sa ibang company just to boost their credentials para mas more chances na matanggap sila sa G Wide pero ako nothing to lose naman at gusto kong mabilis na kumita ng malaki para makaipon agad kaya diretso apply na ko dun although nag apply din naman ako sa mga ibang kompanya. Syempre ayoko naman na maging tambay na lang at di rin naman ako umaasa na matatanggap ako sa G Wide"

I'm still in the midst of thinking when my phone vibrated

'Hello Ms. Sanchez, this is Ms. Garcia of G Wide Telecommunications. I'd like to inform you that starting next week you will be training and teaching Sir Rile Alarcon about everything he needs to know specially the technicalities as a computer engineer'
