Katie's POV:

Crawford and I rode in silence. The only time we spoke was when I had to tell him where to go.

Once we finally got there, Crawford opened my door. We slowly walked to the gates.

I guided Crawford to this small flower shop, I go to every time I stop by here.

I opened the door and the small bell rang. "Hello Katie," The cashier smiled.

Her name was Betty, she was really sweet. She would come with me to see my parents. She was a kind old lady.

"Hi Betty," I wave, walking over to the small counter. "I see you brought a friend," she says, gesturing to Crawford. "Hello," he waved.

"Hello, Dear. My name it Betty," she said and held her hand out. Crawford took is and said,"My name is Crawford."

"Nice to meet you, Crawford." She smiled again. "You too." He smiled also showing his dimple.

"Betty, where are the roses," I ask, now looking around.

"Oh we just got some fresh ones. They are in the back, let me go get them," she says and rushed to the back room.

She came back with 2 white roses and 2 red ones.

"I'll take all of them," I say. Crawford pulled out his wallet, I couldn't pay because when I was kidnapped, they took my purse.

"Oh it's okay sweetheart! It's on the house," she says with a warm smile. "Oh Betty you don't have to," I say. "No no! It's alright, promise," She says.

"Are you sure," I ask. She nods. "Thank you so much," I say. "Oh it's no big deal," she exclaims.

We both walked out of the shop and walk to the gate. I took a deep breath and opened the gate slowly.

"Here," I say. I gave Crawford a white and red rose.

"Why," he asks. "It's for respect." "Oh." He nods.

We walked to the two graves. Once we got there, I stood there. I looked at it and whispered,"Hi Mom, Hi Dad."

I knelt down and set the roses down as did Crawford.

"James Lucas Harper and Kathy Joy Harper," Crawford read a loud,"1971 to 2000."

He stopped and looked at me. "You're seventeen right," he asked and I nodded.

"They died when I was three," I say. "How," he asks. "Car crash." "I'm sorry." He looked at me.

I shook my head,"It wasn't anyone's fault." He took something out of his pocket.

It was a ring.. My ring. "Where did you get that," I ask. "Your bag.." "That is very disrespectful to go in someone else's properties," I say and snatch the ring away from him.

"I wanted to know who you were," He says. "Oh okay, so you decided to go into my things and think it's alright," I say practically shouting.

"Okay. I'm sorry!" I sigh and calm down. "Fine, just please don't go into my private things." He nods.

"But just one more question," he declared. "What is it?"

"Are you an orphan?" He looked at me. "You figured it out." I look up at him now. We both just stare at each other.

"I know your last name because your name is engraved into that ring," he points.

"Oh. Yeah, I got this when I was fourteen." He nods and moves on to another question. "So, the people who adopted you, changed your last name?"

I nod. "How did you figure out you were an orphan," He questioned.

"I did tests. I look nothing like my family. I appreciate them taking me in, it's just I was curious. So I did some tests a couple years back. When I got the results, my adopted parents told me the truth. They told me about the accident and everything else," I explain.

I can't believe I'm yelling all this to someone, I just met yesterday. I have this feeling, I can trust him for some reason. It's weird..

He just sits there, speechless. He finally spoke up,"So where do you live now?"

"I used to live in San Francisco, but when I heard my real parents were buried here, I had to come."

"When did you come?" "Man, you ask a lot of questions," I giggled. "But, I came when I was fifteen."

"You can't live by yourself when you are fifteen." "Exactly! So I had to find some family members. I found my aunt. She accepted me in and I stayed there for about a year and a half. I met Kryn at our high school. As we got older we moved in with each other."

"I'm sorry if this is confusing," I continue. "No no, I understand. It's just, you have been through a lot. I kinda feel bad that I brought you into this mess." He looked at our feet.

I shook my head. "It's alright. I guess this can be fun."

He smiled again showing his dimple. "Well, we should get back. They might be looking for us," he said taking my hand. "Okay."

We walked to the gate and to the van. Now it wasn't silent on the way back. He kept asking so many questions and I kept giving him answers. I had one question for myself though.

Why do I trust him so much?

A/N:

Hey guys! I have no idea where Kryn is and I really love this chapter. As I was writing this I had so many ideas and I was pretty excited to write this. Tomorrow is Christmas Eve so Merry Christmas! Love you! Bye.
