Ecco's Love

Chapter Three

Alexa's P.O.V

     I wake up with a pounding headache in a hospital? How did I get here? "How are you feeling?" I look up to see some guy.

     "Like I was just tortured." I say sarcastically and he keeps a straight face. "Come on, that was a little funny."

     "Mrs. Sink, my name is James Gordon,  I'm the commissioner here in Gotham."

     "How do you know my name?"

     "Victor Zsasz brought you here three days ago with multiple injuries. A few hours after we found A nearly dead Jeremiah Valeska at a warehouse."

    "Are you telling me that the bastard survived?" I say my anger flaring.

    "Yes, he's back in Arkham where he belongs. Why were you there?"

    "I was hired to track him down. When I refused, tell him or his blonde pet they tortured me until I talked. And I stabbed him in self defense." I say bending the truth.

    "How do you know Victor Zsasz?"

    "We're childhood friends." I lie to him. "Are you here to arrest me?"

    "No. Who hired you to find him?" I must be on heavy pain killers because other than the headache I feel fine and a little loopy.

    "A bird." I say without a second thought. "Did you catch the blonde Ecco?"

    "No, we haven't found her yet. What was the bird's name?"

    "I don't remember he walked funny though." 

    "Penguin?"

    "I think so." I nod in agreement half sure that's his name and the doctor comes in.

    "How are you feeling, Mrs. Sink?" I shrug.

    "Better. Can I go home yet?"

    "We just need to take a few more X- rays, then you're free to go." He says smiling kindly. Four hours later I'm finally allowed to leave. I walk out the door where Penguin and Vic are waiting. 

    "You are a lifesaver Vic." I say hugging him. "Valeska survived." I tell Penguin when we pull apart. "And you're lucky I don't kill you right now." I add.

    "Lexa" Vic warns

    "You think Zsasz will let you?"

    "I'm not going to kill you Penguin I want double what you were originally going to pay me." He scoffs.

    "You didn't even complete the job."

    "I would've if you hadn't sold me out."  I snap crossing my arms.

    "No, I'll pay you half." At that I laugh.

    "Vic, I need a gun." He pulls a pistol out of the holster and hands it to me. I make sure it's loaded and point it at Penguin. "Double or I shoot you."

    "Victor do something."

    "Can't boss, I'm not gonna fight my best friend." I smirk and wink at Pengy.

    "Fine, I'll pay you double and as a bonus kill his lap dog." I lower the gun and smile in triumph.

    "Great now, where's the best club?" I inquire needing a drink.

    "The sirens recently reopened allow me to give you a ride." I shrug and he leads me to a car. I get in, and he drops me off at The Sirens. I walk in and go straight to the bar.

    "What can I get ya?"

    "Vodka."

    "Here ya go." I nod in thanks, then down it likes nothing. Two hours later I'm shit faced. 

    "You look like you could use a friend." I turn to face a blonde who seems vaguely familiar.

    "Yeah, my friends kinda suck." I tell her slurring my words.

    "Mine too, I'm starting to think he doesn't give a damn about me."

    "He?"

"Yeah, he was so sweet at first, then he changed. I'm Ecco." That name sounds familiar. Where have I heard that name before?"

    "Alexa." 

    "What about you is there a man in your life?"

    "No, I don't like men like that." I slur.

    "Me neither. Here's to being single and lesbian."

   "Here here." We down the vodka and go back to my place after a lot more drinks.

~Time Skip~

    I wake up back in my bed hungover. I roll over to see Ecco Valeska's assistant. Shit. I look down to see neither of us are wearing any clothes. Double shit.  She wakes up and has the same realization. "What happened?" I ask.

    "I am guessing we both got shit, faced drunk and slept together." 

    "From what I can remember that sounds about right." I agree. "I'm supposed to kill you."

    "I'm supposed to kill you too." She says looking me up and down.

    "I don't think I want to." I smile

    "I don't think want to either." She smiles and we kiss.

    "As long as we're in agreement. How does breakfast sound?" 

    "Sounds great. We should get dressed first." After we get dressed we go into the kitchen, she sits at the table well I go to the fridge. 

    "So I vaguely remember you complaining about a guy last night. Dose that guy happens to be your boss Jeremiah?"

    "Yeah. He couldn't give a damn about me and I gave him my life." 

    "Penguin sold me out to him. Let's kill them, we take out Penguin and Valeska we're free."  I suggest. 

    "If they find out we're dead."

    "I'm already dead, I threatened Penguin. How do you like your eggs?"

    "Scrambled." After I finish making the eggs we sit at the table to eat. There's a knock at the door and I get up to go see who it is.

    "Shit. You need to hide the Commissioner is here." She nods and runs into the bedroom. I open the door. "Commissioner, what can I do for you?" 

    "Penguin put a bounty on your head I'm here to offer police protection." I sigh and shake my head, suppressing a smirk.

    "I'll be fine on my own. I can handle Vic and Penguin. Plus I have a friend who's willing to help me, and I help her in return."

    "Who' this friend?"

    "None of your business. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm nursing a hangover." I close the door on him and laugh.
