I opened my, eyes seeing the sky. It was quite high up that made me wonder how I wasn't dead after this deep fall. I sat up and felt a flower bed with my favorite flowers which are dandelions. I smiled like a fool remembering my family who never acknowledged my presence. I stood up straight, noticing a smiling flower. I smiled back at it. "Howdy I am Flowey.", it winked at me and introduced. "Looks like you poor human fell down the mountain.", it looked at me with a concerned face. "Yeah I fell down mistakenly.", I said with a weak smile as I pat it on the head. "Hehe. Don't worry. I will keep you company.", it said. "Come on I will show you how things work around here.", it said and told to keep up. With a fighting posture, it stood. "So in this place, there are many monsters and are very nice. All of them. You have to do is just run into the small pellets they send. It's as easy as it sounds.", it said with a mysterious grin. I nodded. " Then, if you send pellets to other monsters, you earn EXP. You wonder what that means? It means experience points and with this your LV increases. Want to know this too? It means love of course.", it said with a cute wink, making me smile immediately. "So let's go with the training? As I send the pellets, run into them. Here we go three, two, and one!", as the last number went out, I ran for all of them... to just receive injuries. With shock and fear I stare into Flowey's eyes. " You fool... You think we monsters are nice? You must have read stories about monsters. How come you believe a monster like me. IN THIS WORLD, IT'S EITHER KILL OR BE KILLED! GET IT?! YOU FILTHY HUMAN...", I stare into Flowey's evil eyes with pure fear. But I showed my only strength of, a merciful smile. " Don't smile at me human. It won't work on me... Nor will work on any of the monsters.", Flowey said through gritted teeth. Suddenly a ball fire ran into Flowey, which made it fly away from me. I got even more careful than before noticing tears falling and soon passing out.

I opened my eyes with shock as I remembered what I saw before passing out. I was in a neat room on a bed. I looked around and saw a table beside me. It contained a lamp and a picture. It was a picture of two monsters and a... human? I put that on its place and walked out the room. As soon as I went out the room, I could smell my favorite pie. A cinnamon pie. I followed the smell to a kitchen noticing the same monster from the picture. I went towards her and tugged on her dress. With a terrified face, I was brought to a sweet monster smiling at me with warmth. "Uhm excuse me... Where am I?", I asked timidly. "This, my dear, is called THE RUINS. I am Toriel ,the caretaker of this place, and noticed a monster disturbing a frail human. It's okay. You are in good hands. Don't be scared.", she said in the sweetest way which forced me to give her a smile. "What's your name dear?", she asked me. "I am Astrid", I answered. "Do you like cinnamon pies by any chance?", she asked. I nodded cheerfully. She smiled at me being goofy. I became embarrassed and stood straight scratching my head." Let's go enjoy this pie together.", she said holding my hand and taking me to the dining table. With joy in my eyes I stared at the pie. But she suddenly got sad. "I wish I could get some of this to Sans... He loves cinnamon pie so much.", she said with a drop of tear falling on her cheek. "Who is Sans?", I asked with curiosity. "He is another monster who lives in Snowdin just after THE RUINS. I talk to him every night through the gate.", she smiled weakly while her tears ran down her cheeks freely. "Why don't you go out the gate?", I asked. "I am not supposed to go out from here. It's my job to stay here forever and look out if a human fell down or not. If a human goes out the gate...He...Asgore will...", she started to shake in fear. I ran my hand through hers and calmed her down with a soft and honest smile. She suddenly got up and hugged me tight which made me feel things I never felt. Ever. Not realizing that my tears fell down, I hugged her too and pat her back to calm her down.

After enjoying the pie, we both went to bed. As a lot of things happened today, my eyes wouldn't close. I stared at the ceiling thinking all these really happen. As I heard the door knob turn, I faced the wall and pretended to sleep. I saw Toriel's shadow pop out as she tiptoed inside. She sat on the bed beside me and ran her fingers through my hair. Then I heard sobbing. "Oh Astrid... I will never let you go out from here. You and I will stay here forever or the king will...KILL YOU.", she said with a shard whisper. As I heard her say this I became shocked but softened my face muscles and continued to pretend to sleep. "Good night dear..", she said as she kissed my forehead and went out the door. With joy and sadness I tried going to sleep... But after a while I heard thick chains being opened. My heart skipped a beat and as an instinct, I went towards the sound and noticed Toriel opening the chains to go to the basement. I sighed being relieved. But then I thought why she was going in the basement this late at night. I tiptoed and went to her. I waited for her to stop walking and waited at a distance. Then she called out, "Psst! Sans! Are you there??", she whispered out the big gate. Then I heard another voice call out, "Yeah I am here!!", It sounded like a boy. I went closer and listened. Then it hit me about Sans. I listened as Toriel described me. She said all nice things about me making me smile. Like a clumsy girl that I am, I tripped over my own leg and fell down making a huge thud. "Oh my god! Astrid!!!! Are you okay???", she came running to me, looking concerned. "Hehe sorry... I heard some chains being unlocked so I got curious and followed you here.", I said feeling embarrassed. "Ahh Astrid you made me have a heart attack. Come let me introduce you to Sans.", she said and pulled me by hand to the closed gate. "Hey there human. I am Sans the skeleton and I am 400 years old.", he introduced with a heavy voice. "H-Hi I am Astrid the human and I am 15 years old.", I tried to make my description as same as his--WAIT!! 400 YEARS OLD????? "Wait...what's your age?", I tried to hear it one more time. "I am 400 years old.", he said as calmly as one can. "Astrid, he is a skeleton so the way he looks is mostly the same for a lot of years.", I calmed after the explanation.
